The Unionists had no reason to go to war, they simply refused sovereign rights. The Confederates had everything to lose, their slaves, so they fired the first shot by bombarding Fort Sumter. They started the war.

The view of slavery is crystal clear to many others.

Funnily enough Alex, that was my thought many years ago after seeing a movie that highlighted these abhorrent vermin.

John C Calhoun proposed the "constitutional theory of nullification" (giggle) in the course of defending slavery. Defending chattel slavery based on race was his agenda, goal, cause, etc.
The only State Right at issue was the right to enforce the enslavement of black people.
If you need verification of that, compare the Constitution of the Confederacy - the document that established the Rights of the Confederate States in the new Federal government - with the Constitution of the United States that it was to replace. The only major difference between them in States Rights - the only reason to fight a war for the one over the other - was the Confederacy's explicit guarantee of the right of a State to enforce slavery within its borders.
We have many. We also have the various articles of secession passed by the various State legislatures involved. And we have the years of debate and compromise and discussion in the States and in the Federal Congress, written down for posterity to read - in case they had forgotten why the Confederacy started the Civil War.

It was all about slavery. And it could hardly have been otherwise - US slavery was by far the most significant economic, social, and geographic issue facing any society on the planet at the time.

It might be, if someone had said that.
However, all people can act like apes - naturally - or react like marionettes controlled by an outside power, unnaturally.
Misrepresenting my comments might earn you some points with a selected audience. It's hardly an original tactic.

    True.
It started out as an anti-abolitionist "venture".

A dehumanizing comparison is a dehumanizing comparison. Sad to see you still trying to justify doing it, after being made aware of it.

I have just now read the Cornerstone speech ... says it all... something to be proud of and I suspect many good flag carriers would agree with the sentiment... all gods plan, I should have known.

Yeh yeh if letting you take a point will stop you muddying the water I would let you have it, but if we are to talk dehumanizing it must be such for folk who must tolerate all the idiots running around with a flag representing treason and racisism telling themselves they have anything at all to be proud of...delussional losers who think god is...and is on their side.

Tell me do you believe in the concept of creationist intelligent design? Vociferous do you???
Is that why you are seemingly "different" and that you see yourself as somewhat "special" ?

I am into non creationist intelligent design a new branch of the now well established science loved by all..Intelligent design.

Yes I am of the intelligent design persuation...non creationist branch that is...and by design I really mean "system of things" as oppossed to a design drawn by someone..you know just a neat "system" where using intelligence we can work out and understand the system..the design, not designed of course in the sense of someone but just there..a system, take the unnecessary unevidenced designer out of it and we can get somewhere.
But I don't like these creationists sidtracking intelligent design, they already admit, as they must do being scientific and unbiased, that they don't know who the designer is..that is so scientific of them..yet what they should conclude is design is really the wrong word..I am not sure what should go in its place but for starters.."system"...so yes we now have an "intelligent system"...well by intelligent I really mean something else .. humans are naturally intelligent, although many try to prove that statement wrong by waving a confederate flag or wearing a MAGA cap..so let's substitute for intelligent... "natural".. that's easy isn't it...so really we now have .."natural system".. and who makes a study of natural systems..scientists...so those ID scientists will be happy..not the creationist ones but no doubt those sort of rat bags won't last in the realm of scientific discussion given their science book was written by anonymous men who did not even know where the Sun went at night and illness was due to demons...I mean really folk who rely on knowledge that is thousands of years old just won't cut it in scientific endeavour. I feel sorry for them..indoctrinated from the age they could talk, probably went to schools where they had prayers every day and said Grace at every meal and Sunday church to save money on doing something real..you need to save money for the religious school after all.. ... odd these folk never thank the cook when saying Grace but you can understand that as their ability to rationalise is near non existent...where was I ..yes I feel sorry for them..their brains drowned from repeated washing unable to think..at all..just programmed to repeat the nonsense fed to them day in and day out of their unfortunate deprived lives.
Creationists are ignorantly evil trying to take over intelligent design or as I like to call it the study of natural systems.
Take god out of religion and make it relevant honest and useful else can it.
And yes my legs are very good I am just laying in bed with the pain preventing actually learning something and yet capable of bitterness. It's a good day but not for those evil creationist IDers.

And finger-pointing is a whole lot easier than coming up with an intelligible argument.

    my own statistical analysis
    using scientific data
    cross matched with anthro-psyche
    like a statistics plotting board

culture dictates a high normalization of racial segregation normalization inside ethnic bases as a standard normalized moral framework
    add that extremophile plotting
include social demographics of religious racial segregation culture compliance
    cross reference with demographic spread

accelerate with co-factor adoption of ideological normalcy

    de bug with complicit disassociation

3 out of 10 will have no opinion
5 out of 10 will say segregation is wrong
2 out of 10 will say most cultures normalize segregation
2 out of 10 will say its up to people to choose what ever they want
1 out of 10 will say its the only way to survive

    statistically its all there

    p.s
if your looking for something to familiarize yourself(to the subject nature) with
cultural grouping is a good example
humans have a natural grouping innate process

it takes a lot of education & intellectual leadership to have an equal and open society
holding up ideals as traveling sales men ideologies tends to undermine the collective social controls

the health and education system in the usa is used to create sub class humans
this is then sold as a moral ideology to normalize class systems for lowering the value of human life
    that is american culture
    usa chooses that
remember Oprah Winfrey doing her thing on schools ?
why did that ideology NOT turn into policy ?

when you raise children to thrive inside a corrupt system of power
you define prejudice to be the only possible way to succeed

    Most likely-- not
Much like mules, manual labor has largely been replaced by machines.

    anecdote
    Long ago and far away:
(a little background) Fort Ritchie was a pretty little army post in a valley in the mountains of northern maryland, near camp David---it housed the people who ran an underground facility---site R)
    anyway
I was dancing at the NCO club with a pretty chocolate brown woman from the radio-telephone division, named Sheila.
Curious place there. A lot of the black men chose to sit together, while a lot of the southern white boys also chose to sit together--------------self segregation---peer group identity---?
Anyway, so, we were dancing, and one of the black fellows walked up to us and said to Sheila---"Stick with your own kind bitch!"........ I laughed, and then said "This is the way you talk to women?---and you wonder why you don't get laid?---chuckle
OK, so this black fellow assumed a posture common to men who are about to engage in fisticuffs.....eek, oh no...
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the black men rise to their feet, and the southern white men do the same.......
eek, oh no------a race riot right there in our idyllic little army post?----------OH NO
    so
I moved between the black man and Sheila, and cautioned him that this may have been the absolute best place in the whole country to do time while in the army. "Everybody here knows me, and when the dust settles, I'll still be here while they send you off to a real fun place like ft. benning georgia................ he relaxed his "fight posture"-----
The black fellows and the white boys sat back down, and the confrontational black man went back to join his peers.

Sheila said: "Let's get out of here" and took me by the hand and led me to a secluded place that she knew of.................

    wow
    one helluva woman
    well worth the effort

    .............................................................
    funny thing about segregation
    I built a frog pond
early on, we had green frogs, leopard frogs, pickerel frogs, and toads
Each group staked out a spot on the banks of the pond, and stuck to their own space, while avoiding that of the others.

Did Sheila agree with your opinions on black policing and the Civil War?

Your right, that speech says it all, it's one hell of a scary speech.
