Why does the universe exist?

    In the context of metaphysical claims like the "universe is all there is" and "there is no motivated agency with planning capacities behind such", then accordingly there would be no "reason" for it.

    A "why" attached to "universe existing" also seems to imply there is no substantive existence to the universe other than short-lived states falling out of an immaterial process (abstract or mathematical be-ing) or possibly a magical generative principle. And that at some point in the eradicated or now imaginary "history" of that process the universe did not exist. Similar to watching an unidentified flying object and asking "Where did the space aliens come from?" -- the question already comes enslaved to a particular background orientation or precondition of thought, and is requesting that people only answer or work within that narrow prejudice.
