I dislike both Trump and Biden, neither is any better than the other. I feel that the Presidency has become little more than a figurehead position, and it doesn't really matter who wins. Congress seems to control everything, anyway.

Having wrestled with it a bit, I'm settled about this decision, now.

Biden is a closet republican and racist, so he and Trump seem cut from the same cloth. Are you going to vote? If you don't like either candidate, why are you voting?

If the last 3 1/2 years don't show you why it is important who wins - then we may be better off if you don't vote.

I think it sorta matters. We have a pandemic that has killed over 100,000 Americans and a president who thinks that all the issues surrounding it are a hoax. We have race riots and a president who is inciting more rioting. We have a president who fires tear gas into crowds to do photo-ops with a Bible. Would be nice to fix those things.

So wegs has stepped forward and acknowledged that she is, in part, culpable for the current circumstances of the US.

    Brave move.

That's just it, I don't think Biden can fix those things. Not him. He was the wrong nominee.

Here's the thing: by declaring you won't vote, you are also forfeiting your right to give your opinion a voice.

If you're telling us you won't walk the walk, then why are you here, now, talking the talk?

    That's a reach.

I'm beginning to think the electoral college, and any of our individual votes, don't actually matter. Look at what happened in the last election, Hillary ''technically'' won, but she didn't win.

You - and a hundred million other people with the same mindset - are why the country didn't get the leader it needed.

You can, of course, but wouldn't you agree that's rather hypocritical?

You've already declared you have no interest in the leader of the country come the fall.

    That vote is your voice.

That is a delusion you believe. Biden is the ''leader'' we need? He doesn't even know what day it is. I'm not a democrat or republican, and I think I'm going to vote for someone from a party that represents what we actually need. Both of these parties are corrupt. You can vote as you wish.

I think he can. He's certainly not a great candidate. But he's got a much better chance at fixing them than the guy who has proven he can't fix them.

    I never suggested that.

    Sure. That's not my point.

My point is that your opinion on the matter is forfeited. You have waived voicing it.

That's not the issue here. The issue here is not voting at all. That is a forfeiture of the right to voice an opinion.

Imagine if no one showed up to vote. What might happen? Instead, we'll all get on long lines, believing that our votes actually count for something, and vote to keep the other guy out, not necessarily vote FOR who we want. Don't put words in my mouth, either. The fact that you don't care why I don't want to vote, says something about you, too. Look at how you immediately leap to calling me names. lol

    Indeed it does.

It says the door swings both ways: I don't care why you vote as long as you do vote. Even if you love Trump, I still want you to vote because at least the country would get what the people actually want through a fair voting system, rather than via corruption.

The most corrupt politician would take the chair.

By not voting, you are voting for corruption.

Why do you feel that way? You're assuming by not voting, Trump will win? You sound like you dislike Trump, so that must be what you mean? Which is fine. I'm just trying to understand why you feel that not voting means casting a vote for Trump?

?? Right. Which she explained; she believes her vote doesn't matter because they are equally bad. I was answering that concern.

Not at all. Read what I said again:

I still want you to vote because at least the country would get what the people actually want through a fair voting system, rather than via corruption.

If < 50% want Trump then that's fair.

If 1% of people want Biden and 1% people want Trump and 98% don't vote at all, and then either one wins by one vote, then that is a perversion of the voting system.

If you believe that, why would you not vote for your senator/representative?
