    On Chilvalry and Class

Making a round on Twitter, today, is a particular masculinistic moment↱; the first tweet includes four images of someone I think is a Disney starlet:

Matthew_Michael: I say that if more men acted with chivalry and class, women would be inspired to dress like this, again ....

Dyno: They dress like monsters because of liberalism! And laugh at any attempts at chivalry.

ilnostraunita: They'd dress like that if we force them by law to dress properly, which we should.

The Millennial Falcon: Come on. Women used to dres like that because they were forced to via societal expectations. Now they dress like wild animals, unfortunately, because (supposed) good men and fathers stood back and said nothing over time. Such wild animals don't deserve chivalry.

Master Philosopher: Most women killed chivalry. They are not even women anymore. They are obsessed creatures trying to be men.

Note: Not all of the tweets can be confirmed; not all of the addreses behind the handles can be confirmed.

Meanwhile, on that last, from "Master Philosopher", I have a note scribbled a few years back—a date, 17 October 1972:

In the end, just add this masculinist selection to the heap; as I said a couple months ago↑, when considering variations on the definition of chivalry, life has a way of handing us the examples.

Those types of men ^^ scare me, honestly. They are sociopaths who believe the world should revolve around men, and women should be told what to do and governed by men.

They're a depraved, scary lot. It's pretty comical though that some identify as "MGTOW.'' Yes, please...go your own way.

If they did just that, there wouldn't be much problem. But they don't.

Didn't want to create a new thread, so thought I'd place this update here. Sooo, Kevin Spacey is comparing people who lose their jobs through no fault of their own (Covid19) to his being kicked off the House of Card series. To be somewhat fair, he is comparing emotions, not circumstances, but he comes off as a victim, when in reality he's simply reaping the negative consequences of his poor behavior. Thoughts?

You summed it up pretty well. Reminds me of the (white) rapists who are defended by saying "he's already suffered enough, what with the blow to his reputation and the bad publicity about this! Why ruin his life, too?"

Wow, so true! That's a byproduct or perhaps main component, of rape culture - feeling bad for the rapist, and shaming the victim.
