    Hi there!

    Since the inclusion of July (Julius Caesar's month), the Calendar has become wrong.

    September should be the seventh month (sept-), it's the ninth month. October should be the eighth month (octo-), it's the tenth month. November should be the ninth month (nov-), it's the eleventh. December should be the tenth month (dec-, decimal), it's the twelfth.

    It's a common misconception that Julius Caesar "added" July to the calendar, which was followed by Augustus Caesar "adding" August, instead, they renamed existing months (Quintilis and Sextilis)
    The displacement of the month is due to the fact that an earlier version of the Roman calendar had ten months starting with March. (March 1 was the first day of the year) The days between the ending of December and the start of March were not assigned to any month( an intercalation period which some sources say was considered "Winter"; in other words, "Winter" wasn't considered a part of the "calendar year"). It was the dividing up of these days into two new months (January and February) that "bumped" the other months.

    December --> Duodecember
    November --> Undecember
    October --> December
    September --> November

    And if you want to fire Augustus and Julius:
    August --> October
    July --> September

    In a billion years this won't be all that important.

    What about - in a leap year it is not Feb 29 which is added but according to QI TV show Feb 15th

    Surely that will survive

    Yeah, the arbitrary start of the year used to be in the spring.
