I used to drink coffee only in the evenings. It never effected my sleep. I can literally fall asleep while drinking coffee. The carafe on the coffee maker claimed it was 6 cups but it was only 3 of my mugs.

I cut down to 2 mugs when it started bothering my stomach a little (probably the sugar).

I recently moved and I only brought my little coffee maker with me. It's an ordinary drip type but it makes one cup at a time. I find that I'm drinking coffee throughout the day now, maybe four or five times.

The coffee think just might be like heroin--after some time you end up using it just to feel normal.
