Ghosts are quite real and there's a ton of evidence for them in programs like the one you linked to. There's also a good series you can access on youtube called Celebrity Ghost Stories about real life ghost encounters by famous people. There's actually a few different types of ghosts. One is the invisible poltergeist which moves objects or makes noises. Another is the spirit of a dead person who haunts a location usually where or close to where they died. A third kind of ghost is residual phantoms of the past who replay over and over again at a haunted location like a video tape. Generally these types of ghosts are not seen as conscious or intelligent. A fourth kind of ghost is the shadow person, which nobody really knows what it is and inflicts on people an overwhelming sense of terror. Here is some remarkable footage of a poltergeist disturbance that occurred to a soldier while stationed in Iraq in 2010. Pretty convincing stuff imo:

"Sounds off by like 3 seconds...sorry. But anyways, the video wasn't made for youtubes scariest ghost, it was being made for my family back home, I was sending home a blog of myself being in Iraq and telling them I loved and missed them, and when I started talking about how much I missed my girlfriend there was a voice behind me that was hard to make out, but when I turned to see where the voice had come from, my damn locker doors opened with heavy force. It scared the shit out of me, and I have put in a request for a room swap, maybe when my Sergeants see this they will understand..."

Actualy ghosts are about as real as goblins, UFO's of alien origins, Bigfoot, and any of a number of pseudoscientific. paranormal supernatural unscientific, nonsense. They exist in your mind only, and a few other poor gullible souls.

Interesting article that discusses the nonsense that is portrayed so much today on TV and masquerading as fact.......

DID aliens build the pyramids? Can psychics contact the dead? Are ghosts real? For anyone with a grasp of critical thinking, the reply might be a chuckle, followed by: “Wait. You’re not serious?”

Unfortunately, a lot of people are serious. In the US these questions have all been explored by TV channels including History, The Travel Channel and TLC (previously The Learning Channel). Despite their often ridiculous programmes, these channels and others seem happy to present themselves as sources of non-fiction content, and seem to have no problem with the public regarding them as such.

Is it any wonder that more than seven in 10 people in the US believe in miracles? Or that fewer than half accept evolution?

While one could argue that such shows are popular simply for their entertainment value, statistics suggest that this may be giving viewers too much credit: a poll commissioned by National Geographic in 2012 showed that 77 per cent of people in the US believe there are signs that aliens have visited Earth.

Telling apart sensationalised content from sensational content isn’t always easy. Quebec, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Flemish Belgium and Greece all have various bans on television advertising aimed at children, as studies suggest they cannot differentiate between adverts and programming. A similar lack of critical thinking is arguably leading people of all ages to fail to distinguish science fiction from science fact. We clearly have a lot of work to do.

That’s where AtheistTV comes in. The organisation I head, American Atheists, launched the channel in July. It is the world’s first TV channel dedicated to atheist-friendly content: everything on it, unless clearly presented as fiction, is guaranteed never to blur the line between fantasy and reality. Content includes documentaries, speeches from atheist conventions and rallies, stand-up comedy, a talk show called The Atheist Viewpoint and much more. And this is only the beginning. AtheistTV will soon carry original programming.

AtheistTV is aimed at all non-believers, whether they call themselves atheist, agnostic, secular humanist or just curious. With it, we plan to get a level of public recognition for atheism and atheists that the US has lacked. Viewer numbers have already rocketed past our highest expectations.

There are so many things to learn in the real world that even a hundred lifetimes isn’t enough to explore them all. We don’t need to make things up. What makes the truth beautiful and wonderful is that it’s true. I think that’s magnificent, and more worthy of attention than any gods, ghosts, psychics or aliens could ever be.

Remember, road kill is just God providing, so don't be shy about that. OK, back to ghosts.

I've seen a shadow person. Very fast and seemingly defy the laws of gravity, unless they have no weight. No eyes nothing, just black but seem sentient. It was about 170 yards away, climbing across roofs in a pretty busy place. I wish someone confirmed seeing the same thing, but no. Now I'm left with a question. Can everyone see these things?

I wouldn't want that guy watching my back in the trenches.

I believe in ghosts, but their ''existence'' is hard to prove. Maybe I want to believe in them. I'd say if one has exhausted all potentially possible options, then it could be a ghost, in some scenarios.

Right... because your first thought was "Spooky supernatural thingy" rather than "Ninja assassin on his way to a mob hit".
Funny how the one seems ridiculous and the other "not".

I don't think you'll find any ninja's at Hexham, but you never know. Ninja's should be classed as Superheroes as the fluidity was out of this world.

    This is my point exactly.
Why are ninjas less likely than "ghosts"?
What sort of mind accepts "ghosts" (not shown to exist) over ninjas (known to have existed, possibly still could).
    Really? "Out of this world"?
Because it couldn't possibly be anything to do with the available light? Your perceptions? Something considerably more mundane?

    Perhaps ...

But not the option of moving on .

let's end that by saying "we'll stick to our subjective views but thanks for the conversation"?

    Really? "Out of this world"?
Because it couldn't possibly be anything to do the available light? Your perceptions? Something considerably more mundane?

There is a chance that a cloud may of created a shadow jumping around buildings, sure. Never rule anything out.

Ah, right. I know what that means.
And yet you decide to claim: "a shadow person... No eyes nothing... Can everyone see these things? (a direct implication that there's nothing mundane about it at all)"
Which sorta implies that you've ruled out misperception for a start.
And then, when I raise (not entirely facetiously) ninjas your first response is "I don't think you'll find any ninja's at Hexham".
So I'll ask again: why is a"shadow person" more likely than a ninja?

To be honest I know nothing about modern day ninja's, the only Ninja's from the late eighties I remember Sakuro Killers they were deadly, and wore swords on their back. I saw no sword, modern thing?

Don't worry about it. You saw a shadow person. People all over the world actually see shadow people. They do not see ninjas jumping around. That's sort of the whole point of being a ninja.

Any theories on what they are?

Some suggest they are interdimensionals. Others of a more Judeo Christian bent suggest demons. I just think they are non-human spirits that feed off negativity. Something doesn't have to be something familiar in order to exist.

    Under-performing ninjas on day shift.
I mean, ninjas would be pretty useless if you knew they only worked between sunset and sunrise, so there must be daytime ninjas.
Performance of a group falls on a Bell Curve, so there must be a 'worst' of the bunch.

So you spotted the underperformer of the ninja day shift. The logic is inescapable...

Still orders of magnitude more likely than ghosts or interdimensional vagabonds.

There seems to be an energy that we can't detect , upon which ghosts imprint themselves on .

    Or an ether .
