I've been absorbed by politics today, so forgive me if this seems a little mixed in content. Watching the congressional hearing of AG Barr, I'm getting a feeling that the Democratic Party is getting desperate, especially now that the Mueller report has been released. They appear to be grasping at straws, and possibly they have lost control of their Party.

I've tried to avoid politics these past months, but for some reason I felt a need to tune back in on the topic. Based on your knowledge of current events, what do you believe the future holds for American politics?

███ that meant the three ██████ which ██████ said they had no idea ████████████ would result in ████████████

Really. It's my understanding that the full text is available in a secure location, yet only three members of congress have bothered to look at it. Is this incorrect?

I'm finding loads of ''full report with redactions'' Can you find anything without redactions? Where did you find the news about the ''full text is available in a secure location''?

Thank you. There is a reason why I have been avoiding it for so long. Watching the latest online yesterday kind of sucked all the joy out of heart.

If the GOP can jettison Trump and get control of their own destiny? Not too bad.

They pretty much have to rebuild from scratch. That would take several years.
In the next several years, four kinds of hell will break loose and parties will become irrelevant, because the situation will resolve one way or the other: total breakdown and civil war or dictatorship.

Trump doesn't concern me. He's trolling the political elites and it's worth the laughs watching him do it. If the economy was in ruins or he involved us in a major conflict, then I would be concerned.

Politics is a dishonest business. That is the light shining down on our political system. What's worse, it has polarized the nation. We can blame Trump, or we can blame the Democrats, or we can blame ourselves. Who's to blame for not finding a compromise?

Glad you are getting your laughs.

Meanwhile, another child died in US custody after being put in an ICE detention center . But not your problem, eh? It's worth the laughs.

Perhaps if we weren't encouraging people to break our laws, they wouldn't put themselves in potentially dangerous situations, like the family who recently drowned trying to cross the Rio Grande, not to mention rape, child abuse and murder taking place along the way. But hey, it's not Trump holding the door open. Personally, I think that shipping them to sanctuary cities is the best solution for all. Why should they suffer in detention centers when they can occupy the streets of SF, LA, Seattle and other welcoming communities? Really, that is the one idea that makes any sense.

We are not encouraging people to break our laws. It is entirely legal for a refugee to cross the border and request asylum.
Right. He's just the one tearing families apart and throwing kids in ICE cages - where they sometimes die. Worth the laughs, apparently.
Sure. They're less criminal overall than US citizens, so why not? Put them to work in the fields while they are waiting for a ruling.

The Mueller report has not been released. It's still available in redacted form only.
Meanwhile, the attempts of various Dem politicians to force the Trump administration to obey the law, tell the truth in public, account for their behavior, etc, are being frustrated - apparently we are looking at impeachment or nothing.
Then you won't mind if the responsible adults of America get rid of his treasonous ass and jail his entire mob operation.
You don't think in advance? Lots of people - not Republican voters, apparently, but responsible adults - prefer to prevent disasters rather than suffer them.
The economy is badly damaged and barely hanging on while approaching crisis (it never recovered from W), and Trump is involving the US in major conflicts on three continents while boosting the US military budget dramatically.
Why not blame those responsible? The US Republican Party. That is who refused all compromise, refused all responsible behavior, and set out forty years ago to isolate their voting base from the rest of the country and organize them into shitpile of fundies, bigots, and imbeciles on strictly partisan grounds.
    You talking about the Russians?
Nope - you're talking about the Hondurans and Guatemalans and Salvadorans. Those lawbreakers, not the white ones. Got it.
Ok: you could take a minute or so to find out why they are doing that and how this situation came to be. It's not that big a mystery.
For the Russians, Saudis, and money launderers, it is.

I think they should go for it.

Afghanistan, Syria? Were we not already there. China wants no war, nor does Russia, nor does trump.

Your definition of the "other side" pretty much defines the problem we face as a nation. Be assured that your side is being demonized too.

Why not explain the open secret?

    Your on to something.

Let's start with the Trumps: unlike the legal asylum seekers at the southern border, Melania is an illegal immigrant who has broken US law (remember?). We could ship her to the streets of some sanctuary (I nominate one of the Indian Reservations in a liberal State), put Barron in a wire cage somewhere in Arizona until we can find him a sponsoring family of citizens in good standing ( his immediate relatives are all criminals, apparently - can't have him raised in that kind of environment), and use the interrogation techniques we have developed for obtaining information from such people to find out what his parents and relatives are doing in the US.

I know you're not stupid, but if that's the excuse you offer, then I welcome them to inhabit our sanctuary cities.

Adaults are detain in detention centers for breaking the law, not children. Bill, would you risk your child's safety on such an adventure? Would you risk their child's safety on such an adventure?

Sure, exploit them for cheap labor, exactly why democrat and republican criminals have done nothing to secure the border. Who harvests our crops, cleans our homes, does all the bs work? They are used both for political points and economic gain.

No, no, a free pass to the sanctuary cities for all those crossing the border. We will bus them there. I'm certain it would be cheaper than building a wall or processing them through detention centers. Agreed?

Since Reagan at least, yep. Yemen, Qatar, Venezuela, Mexico, North Korea, Iran - - - - the US is available for war in a long list of places.
Nobody ever does. So? Doesn't matter what Trump "wants" - if he even knows, beyond big hotel deals paying him millions.
It's never been a secret, and it's been explained for two generations now.
You could even reason it out for yourself, from scratch, right now, without bothering to remember anything that has happened in your adult life or find out anything about US policy in Latin America: If you start with the assumption that Guatemalan mothers care about their children just as your mother did and white people's mothers do in general, you can reason for yourself what the situation must be in Guatemala to produce the legal asylum seekers on the US border.
The real "explanation" - why somebody like you can post as you do here without the shame of their behavior relegating them to a decent silence and efforts of atonement - is already in front of you: the Republican voting base is an organized and manipulated shitpile of bigots, fundies, and imbeciles.
Let's start with the Trumps - fewer of them, easier to catch, and they can pay for their own jail time. If it works with them - discourages their kind from illegal entry and breaking US law - we can expand the program.

But are we currently at war?

Okay, when we are at war, complain about it.

Calling them names for disagreeing with your politics doesn't resolve any issues. I think you feel the doors should be left wide open, regardless of who they are. Again, I believe those compelled to do so should open their local communities. I welcome your commitment to feed, shelter and provide all necessary services required to maintain such a influx of people, and while your trying to deal with that responsibility, you should also take some time to resolve the needs of our growing homeless population. Should be a snap.

I think you have enough to do caring for the Guatemalans. Don't waist your time with Trump. You should be on the border escorting refugees back to your house. They can pitch tents in your backyard or something.
