    Hello.

If something takes forever to achieve, surely it would never come into existence. Personally I think of infinity as something continuing forever. But surely the existence of such a thing would mean something that takes forever, would never be. Sort of, "The day after tomorrow" scenario. This is unless infinity is actually a finite substance. Is infinity truly finite?

Hi! Do you have a logical argument for your conclusion?

If you can imagine a clock with an extra-hand ticking one-minute ahead. It can never be reached but it's still only reading finite digits.

It might take "forever" to be finished. But as soon as it was started, it would exist in unfinished form.

Hence the song that remains forever: a song that never begins never ends; but did YOU know or create that???

The fastest person to run one-hundred metres ran it in 0.00 seconds. They entered but did not run: a record that will never be broken.

Nope. That would be the slowest person to run the hundred meters. And all you have to do to beat his record is live longer than he does.

That would be the longest time. They ran it in 0.00 seconds.

They would have to enter the race...

Infinity is nihilistic. It's a non-factor. Pardon the pun.

We should exist forever before and after.

Apologies. That record can be broken with a minus time: the person who ran it backwards, or ran the wrong way. ☺

Fortunately a clock is not set one-minute fast: it is set to the time. During British-Summer-Time the clocks are set one hour fast: they are set to a new time. ☺

infinity is only as far as we can count

if a quantum computer was built to simply count up as fast as it could to get to the total number of all things...
would it ever stop counting ?

There are threads about that: the largest number. The greatest symbol used is nine (9.)
