    Hello.

Who created the moon, when and why?

Without the Moon there would be no Tide pod challenge, and that would mean fewer Darwin Awards.

I saw on the news Facebook banned someone for posting a meme showing some person bitting into a Tidepod with the text "THIS IS WHY WE WON'T COVER YOUR HEALTH CARE"

This is not the meme as the one shown on the news was the face of someone bitting the Tidepod

Think the number of Darwin Awards will remain the same as recipients can provide more exotic and bizarre ways to kill themselves other than swallowing detergent

"Tide goes in, Tide comes out. You can't explain that."

    On topic:

Nobody created the moon. Well, maybe God, if you believe in that sort of thing, but only in an indirect way.

The moon is thought to have formed when a large (approximately Mars-sized) object collided with the proto-Earth in the early era of the formation of our Sun and solar system, when there was a lot of rocky debris drifting around and planets were just starting to form.

The Earth-Moon system could be somewhat unusual in this regard. Some have described the system as a double-planet.

Zenor created the Moon, 20,000 years ago and mainly just because he could. It was essentially just sky art. Something for him to look at.

    Why do you ask?

Yep. During the Late Heavy Bombardment Era Theia crashed into the Earth and what rubble that didn't fall back to Earth or escape its gravity well coalesced to become Luna.
