Pre-diction

    And the thread seems to have swerved off into a ditch.

    And over the embankment and down into the trees.

    How's that for a prediction?

    Okay, I will. People predict the future regularly. Singing along to a song for example. If you've heard the song before you may know the words about to be sung. ☺

    That's not exactly predicting the future; it's repeating the past. You simply repeating something you already know.

    But I may say to someone words about to be sung. If THEY have never heard the song it's predicting the future for them. The same is true when watching repeats. We know what is about to happen...

    No, we only have a very high confidence of what is about to happen.
