I am totally with one-raven here, the very cool cinematic effects and action scenes could not make up for the boring mediocre shallow acting and the pseudo-philosofical dialogues. Next time I take the blue pill!

Agent smith is cool though, when he speaks he spits out his words like sharp knifes...

I can't deny that there is bad acting in the movie, or at least overacting. I just like the fact that I can go to this movie with one of my "slower" friends and both of us can enjoy it for different reasons.

Regarding the philosophies presented: I think it comes down to a single question. What are our other options in cinema today? X-Men? The Hulk? American Pie 2?

When I comment on what is presented in the movie I am commenting on the build of the story, not on personal philosophy. I am not really pondering life or technology per se. If I do talk about it the conversation tangents away from the movie in to another discussion.

I'm no philosophy expert, but I know I am above average (That is not saying much). If this movie gets just a few more people to put some thought in to their world and question something, then I think there is merit in making these movies beyond the revenue.

Whatever your opinion on the movie I cannot and will not try to change. However I do have some questions and shall post them to those who wish to think about the upcoming third matrix movie.

    Here...

So what are your thoughts upon the mother of the Matrix, as the archeitect described her? Is it perhaps Trinity or another women we haven't see as of yet? Also, why are the machines allowing for Zion to survive why not destroy the resistenece altogether? Does the matrix keep there DNA on file is that how their able to make Morpheus, Trinity, Neo and the rest over again? Is Zion in another kind of Matrix? I'd love to hear some theories...

To all that didn't like the movie, for its "psuedo-philosophy" and its gratuitous sex related scenes....

You are forgetting one thing, this is only half of the movie, and in fact much of the psuedo-philosophy is most likely meant to leave the audience vunerable to surprise when its all revealed at the end. So don't be so quick to judge yet.

The love scenes, the kissing scene, the cake scene, and the rave scene, all may have much to do with the philosophy that will be revealed in the third movie no doubt.

    But I have a question....

Does anyone remember (whether it was in the first Matrix, or Reloaded) anyone at all ever stating that Zion, Morpheous, Neo, etc, were in fact exclusive of The Matrix and how they came to be exclusive of it??

I don't recall at any time someone stating this to be so. Even if they did say this, how are they positive of its validity?

Moreover, it can be deducted, based on the end of the movie, that Zion is NOT seperate from the Matrix as a whole, but simply exclusive of the part of where one is unaware of the Matrix the part for those who have chosen not to "accept" The Matrix. Yet another anomaly of The Matrix, an anomaly that can be and need be eradicated.

But I need to watch the first movie again, because I haven't seen it in awhile, and I may be contemplating, and proposing questions that have already been answered.

    Feedback?

!SEMI-SPOILER! DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THE MOVIE

Ah, and to add something that has just dawned on me...

    The Oracle says...

"You have already made the choice, you are here to understand why you have made the choice"

Suggesting that Neo is in fact the intuitive program made to understand the human psyche that The Architect spoke about. And The Oracle is nothing more than an exhile,as The Keymaker was and now as Agent Smith(the foremost trenchant character ever presented in a movie), "doing something she is not supposed to." For The Architect never states Neo's assumption that it is The Oracle who is the program as truth, and in fact it may have been another Red Herring.

But as usual, I may be giving the writers the benefit of the doubt to place extremely elusive Red Herrings, when in fact it was simply hole in the movie, and is nothing more than my own creativity getting the best of me. I have done this time and time again. But only Matrix:3 will tell...

    Feedback?

I believe that the Arachitect (how ever it's spelt) is refering to love as neo's greatest weakness.

I still like the idea of Neo being a program. But I have to agree with my friends who argue back saying that it would alienate the audience to have the hero be a machine.

Since the Oracle was never specifically said to be the "Mother" of the Matrix that leads me to believe that Persephony has something more to do with it. I am curious about what will happen with her and the French guy.

Possibly, I think he was refering to hope though.

    Questions:
    1. First, how do the people in Zion get food: bread, fruits, etc!
No sun! where are the artificial heat sources and etc? so water is recycled eh? Ok fine. What of the Earth's core? The heat!!!!! Do he was.. brothers know geology?(THANKS ORBIE, I SERIOUSLY SHOULD READ OVER MY STUFF) sedimentary rocks that deep down the earth's surface? LMAO
    2. They have flying ships but play DRUMS??????????? What kind of anachronistic crap is that? U'd think they'd at least have a freaking DJ.
    3. Which nation has the racial proportions that Zion displays?
    4. Ergo (

), where The heck is Zion? continent? etc
    5. If Zion is a city that is under the earth's surface, then this means that man somehow dug that deep?????? using what? if 23 individuals were chosen? How many damn mellinea would it take
for them to rediscover all the technology neccessary to to recreate Zion?
    6. This means therefore that the machines build Zion for them????

    Thus:
Zion is part of the matrix. 99% accept the Matrix code. If the human fields are in the millions, then the 1% percent left over is the population of Zion. They cannot accept the reality of the matrix. So the machines redesign a different reality for them in the form of Zion and etc. The function of the One is to reinforce this reality. Zion is destroyed when the one is found and then the zion reprogrammed and then repopulated with the individuals who cannot accept the reality of the matrix. Thereby making eaxh and every individual "brought" "out" of the matrix a machine--Morpheous, Neo etc. to restart the process. If humans accept Zion then they must accept a fight and hope for a win--Neo. The discovery in the one culminate in a boundary for the amout of individuals Zion can hold. so u kill them all. LMAO!! Idiotic. Neo can kill sentinels "outside" the matrix because he is a machine and can reprogram the sentinels to fault?

    OR:
Zion exists and there really is only one "the one" :bugeye: and the architect lied to Neo. Thereby prompting the question, why the fuck didn't Neo try to kill him? ......

    OR:
The second movie sucked and is not as deep as the Empire strikes back. and smith is really a rogue machine bent on revenge?????? nonsense. he said he wanted to leave the "stinking" matrix so why the heck not leave it? and a backdoor? meaning that there exist machine hackers and that the machines have taken on a human psyche. Making this maybe a little deep. And that Neo can kill the machines outside the matrix because why?????

FUCK IT, I"ll WAIT til November? And please let's hope 80% of the freaking movie is not of stupid car chases and fights! Which begs the question, if Zion is a matrix or there is a matrix within the matrix which is "the real world?" why on earth fight?

    That's geology, not geography.

Because the movie wouldn't be as cool on screen if they were zapping each other with a bunch of lazer guns in the poison clouds of venus.

This is an on and off question spanning the 4 movies. Are the machines ruled by a singular consciousness? As stated in the first movie, there was or is an AI which spawned an entire race. Again at the end of the first movie we see Neo talking to this "creature". Then later when the Animatrix came out, the mastermind AI was completely gone from the whole second renaissance story and its non existing in reloaded. What does that mean? Are they just an evolving race which started out as a produced series(600 modelĀ“is a cleaner bot, 1000 model with language skills, etc..), or is it just supposed to prove that morpheus is wrong about many things showing that in a way hes following the wrong path giving way for this matrix and meta-matrix concept.

How do you know it didn't play out in the end the same way with all the others?
