ok.... i got my exam results. i'm doing the icse syllabus which is very similar to the syllabus in england uptil 10th. i think it's called gcse. anyway, i got avg. of 84.89%.

that's not too bad, considering i started studying 5 days before the exam, but it's not that competetive either. anyone remember past exam results?

Nice. I have no idea what grade that is, or what ICSE or GCSE or that stuff is, but good job.

I got a 91% or so average my last year in high school.

GCSE is the english year 11 examinations, mocks of which are done at the start of the year.

High School in USA is a joke for many foreigners. You guys are lucky that you studied (study) HS there.

    Good job though

Its funny when we hear marks on sciforums from highschool. I'm not sure what it is about my school, but I can name maybe 10 people in my whole grade with a 90 average. I think the highest average is 92 in my grade (though, apparently in grade 12 they start marking a bit easier). Now, this is wierd because my school is actually the top-ranked public school for academics in Toronto.

Keep in mind, in the T.O. school system an 80-100 is an 'A'. That does not mean an 'A' is easier to get, it means that we have more exactness in our pinning down of what an 'A' is. Believe me, we still don't have that many A students. Still, it seems like a bit of a messed up system even to me.

I totally agree! I"m an OAC but I have one gr. 12 class (my OA family studies was cancelled so I had to take something lower) and the marking is really easy, but also extremely subjective, you basically go on the mood the teacher is in that day. Our schools highest OAC average is somewhere around a 98 i think.......mines only 85

one thing is the level of maths and science here is higher than in some other schools. i mean when i was in the 4th std. i went to moscow, and was in the british intl. school. studies there were a joke, seriously. we were doing what i'd done in the 2nd std. there. and they start algebra only in 8th std. or something. so as a consequence, when i came back here- i found i was weak in maths.

    Math is joke in USA

Come on guys Math is the easiest thing in US classes. My little sister was supposed to start 2. junior high in my homeland but when she came here they said that her math level is to high and offered her to start high school.

For example SAT is the easiest thing compared to university entrance exams in other countries.

So be happy with what you have cause other people have it much more difficult. Thats why most Math related classes are filled with foreigners in College.. cause there it gets serious
