Life is a jewel in its own, but you need it to have a wish. The answer lies within the hedonistic mind. Caution: Heathens masqueraded as hedonist approaching.

The purpose of life is to survive and propagate more life--in a nutshell. It certainly is a crazy, mixed up journey along the way, but I doubt many would opt-out of the ride.

I suggested an NDE where someone saw something in another room that actually happened in that other room.

The purpose of life ; is To Experience Life .

The soul/mind needs a corporeal experience to learn what a physical experience can mean .

Inotherwords ; the purpose of life is to learn and therefore grow ; as a living being .

Today many people are materialists, not realising that we are immortal beings. The purpose of our life is just learning and growing in the school, called Earth. A detailed description of my thoughts you will find in my blogspot:

If you believe in the creator of the heaven and earth then there is a purpose , He have a purpose for you . Praise his creation and help the needy. ( you have an obligation )
If you don't believe in the creator , then you don't have any purpose . You have only yourself. (You don't have any obligation )

I could have as readily said symbiotic consumption. Primary producers consume CO2 and produce a waste product O2. We consume O2 and produce a waste product CO2 which the primary producers consume---------we are here for the primary producers benefit and they are here for ours.

However, without reproduction, that stops, and we all die.
If you really love broccoli, and it does not reproduce, then this year is the last year you enjoy that treat.
So, consumption is grand, but needs reproduction to keep that circuit open.

Animals take strong position to mate for procreation . They search for a mate that can help to raise and to provide for the offspring
    WHY.
If there is no purpose for life , they just would not care for the offspring . If there is something programmed for the care of the offspring's well being. That tells me there is a purpose for mating is to reproduce . and so that life will continue in this planet.
So here becomes the question : Do we believer in a programmer of life. If life would not have a programmer , I believe life would not pass the early half billion year after the big bang.

Life is simply a chance accident, starting with the accident of the BB and creation of space and time [spacetime] as we know them. Once life started, [abiogenisis] the die was cast and evolution took hold and continues today.

Are you saying life is an accident ? If so, why would the accident lead into a higher form of life from other animals as us , that we start to question the purpose of our existence

It could be there is more than one purpose.

Life may have a need to continue so reproduction will be a given.

Humans however want more and so invent imaginary outcomes and call those imaginations a purpose and must of course attribute any purpose to their imaginations, often their invented God.

But most likely there is no purpose and life simply follows the dictates of chemistry without purpose other than to obey the rules of chemistry, and such could hardly be called a purpose.

From a personal perspective perhaps an individual could embrace a notion of "his" or "her" reason for existence but that notion will probably be nothing more than personally satisfying ignoring the imperative of chemistry.

Al. Let me ask, I will adopt a puppy dog, the question is why do I want to adopt the dog, Is there any purpose of myne for getting involved with the animal ? I will say yes. The dog can watch my house , give me companionship and we are going to establish some relationship of satisfaction.
