I am perfectly happy with the results. It's pretty straightforward.
Farsight claimed he was infracted without cause.
RPenner has obliged him in making the reasons for the infractions public (mis-teaching GR), thus Farsight has hung himself on his pitard.
I don't need to have the judgment thrown out and retried. Moderators are here for a reason.

Off-topic for a moment if I may: I think the saying is "hoist by his own petard". A petard was an early shaped-charge castle defense penetrator, so one couldn't be hung on it..

    Back to topic: I agree!

As a newcomer I know nothing of old disputes. As far as I can make out the moderators act with integrity above and beyond that which the average person might reasonably expect or even hope for.

D'oh. Note to self: check spelling before posting.

"The fuses on these bombs were very unreliable, and sometimes the engineers would be killed when the petards exploded prematurely. The explosion would blow (or hoist) the engineer into the air. "

It was Shakespeare that first used the term hoist in relation to blowing onesself up.

    Yes, the whole extract is : Let it work;
For 'tis the sport to have the enginer
Hoist with his own petard, an't shall go hard
But I will delve one yard below their mines
And blow them at the moon.

Hamlet (I think) is being sent to England in the company of Rosencranz and Guildenstern who have a letter to the English court which Hamlet suspects is an instruction to execute him. He intend to bugger up this plot "delving one yard below their mines" so he can get the perpetrators bumped off instead.

This also shows the origin of the term "mine" in the military sense. Originally it was a bomb placed in an underground cavity (a mine), excavated below the walls of the structure to be penetrated.

As so often with Shakespeare, you get insights with every other line.......

In this regard - and completely off-topic - should any of you ever find yourself in St. Andrews in Scotland then pay a visit to the castle. There you can descend into a counter mine, excavated at the time of a siege, to intersect that being dug by the besiegers. (I can't recall which altercation this was.) Well worth a visit.

And this kind of thing was the origin of Dungeons and Dragons! The "dungeon" part came about because of siege mines which then lead to the idea of connecting to elaborate basements below the targets of sieges to make for a different kind of wargame experience.

How much does that cost? Since my dad emigrated from Scotland, I should be able to hitch hike around Europe and use haughty slang with an American accent to annoy everyone I meet. Even though I'm Canadian, I'd still chant 'USA, USA' everywhere.

Grant everybody access. I have nothing to hide. You do.

Oh, and don't misquote me. I said light doesn't follow "the curvature of spacetime". And it doesn't. You know full well that spacetime curvature relates to the tidal "force" as opposed to the "force" of gravity. Don't you? And that "the curvature of light rays occurs only in spaces where the speed of light is spatially variable". It doesn't occur only where spacetime is curved. Einstein never said that. The people who say that are teaching a cargo-cult version of GR, saying your pencil falls down because g varies instead of your pencil falls down because g is not zero.

No, I don't. All I have to do is point to electron diffraction. As you know full well. Just as you know that your "modern understanding" is a specious claim which dismisses the hard scientific evidence.

He can't go for four posts without saying "cargo-cult". And almost nothing of any value beyond the humor of that...

The very citation given by Farsight in support of his point shows that Farsight is incorrect, and hence lying.

What mystery there is in waiting for the semantics of PM's to compare with an open discussion?

I'd be a professional psycholinguist of the chemically imbalanced could I remember things coherently after passing out drunk the night before. And yet, I still fret I'd be more intellectually stimulated with alcohol than by reading the PM's sober.

    One, now.
Now you have some reading material.
I'm not acquainted with "everybody" nor is there a mechanism for such a request to be granted. Please pay attention to the discussion.
