3 gigabyte harddrives were never made at 7,200 RPM. Heck, I don't even think they had those at 5,400 RPM

    really? haha.

well thanks for informing me that my computer is worse than i had imagined. I just assumed it was at least 5400. i've never seen anything less. I can only hope that there isn't a little man on a bike spinning it at 32rpm.

shit spiff...even i can outdo your computer:

    Duron 700 Mhz
    Gigabyte gaz7m mobo
    256 mb 133mhz?
    20 gb 5400rpm maxtor and 60 gb 7200rpm seagate (a later addition)
    windows XP
Ati Radeon 8500 LE 64 mb (used to be voodoo3000)
some HP burner, burns 4 or 8 times...real slow.
My CDrom stopped working a week after the warranty run out.
    philips 107e 17" screen....whoo yay...
    soundcard: onboard
speakers: can't remember, but reasonably decent with woover and all, but not very expensive.
Logitech wingman extreme (crap on XP for some reason)
microsoft gamepad (with which microsoft XP seems to have trouble with recognizing)
A USB cable to my Cannon Ixus v digital (with 128mb CF card)
microsoft wheel mouse optical (i love these things, my mice usually only last one year tops, but this one has been problemfree for 3 years. Best money I ever spend on a mouse.)

although it is about 3 years old it still seems to be able to cope slightly. The last game I bought was feelancer and it doesn't seem to be very system hungry. I do want to buy a new one soon, but it won't be a supersystem. I never really buy supersytems.

    Mboard: Asus A7V-133

Chip: Athlon 1.33 Ghz / 266 Mhz FSB
RAM: 1 Gig of Samsung PC133
Video: Asus V8200 Deluxe (w/ stereo glasses, video in... it's a geforce 3)
Audio: 5 Piece altec Lansing, Soundblaster Audigy Gamer
Hard Drive: ata 100 40 gig
Hard drive: ata 133 (running at 100) 60 gig (both are 7200 rpm)
    Zip 100 drive
    DVD (toshiba 16x)
    Yamaha 16/10/40 burner
Logitech Elite Duo cordless mouse/key with cool volume knob and stuff

Monitor: NEC multisync FE990 (19", nice color)
NIC: Dlink 10/100 on a cable modem with no down limit (up limit of 128Kbps though, annoying)

not too bad eh? eh, it's getting pretty out-dated I guess but it rocks for all my needs so far. sure I want more expensive goodies but this system is still rock solid for every game I've run into. Once doom3 comes out though, I'll have to upgrade...

Is it actually a 2.8 GHz? or is it a 2800+?? Theres a difference. the 2800+ doesnt actually run at 2.8 GHz (it doesnt have to really to match speed of Intel's 2.8 GHz).
