Computer education...is it a threat or boon to our existence?
I remember a day in my childhood days, when in 1994, my class of 7th were made an introduction to formals of computer education. Written and general ideas are a different thing, but we were taken to a new classroom of at that time nine computers pc system. In those days pcs were used not for any public usage in india but in centralized office and administrative network service. So those days i see india was so lovely, lush greenery, chilled weather, loving people...
So we were introduced to the formals of pc system, folders, software etc as we were small in size and knowledge. But as we all starred to the screen our brains were totally focused to the terminal network. At that time i remember there were floppies, win94 and win2000 server system latest. The sisters nuns of the school convent came and told babbled something unfamiliar and later checked by another young punjabi teacher. So the nun said like these children have grown up and demarcated as their brain skill level science, commerce and arts. But computers brought them together. So it was perhaps a prethought future that these children us would then grow up and perhaps switch schools would not get to meet one another. This then was like an occult future simulation the nuns and school administration were to create. That our school batch were sitting in 1999 in 12th class computer educution and many were brashing their marks and some were mid skilled and others were quiet. And we were infact starring at win xp screens.
So has the computer education in schools....etc really helped anything realized, thoughtful? to any extent?
Its a different thing that people learned went to office and then bought a laptop to study their own help.
Or have u seen the movie "chappie" this movie i remember i had seen in 1999, but now after so many years its been re-released as a new movie, it has lost its color. In this movie its concept is nice to see huge robots and neural data virtual brain mapping systems actuated many a robots.
So is computer network also the same?
That we once cherubic lovely children are now slave to some computer network system? Brains mapped to one another distant people unknown knowing one another brain set and lost the once cool world?
Or is it a boon that we are checked every human beings in a sense and nothing is gained in any way?

Boon. At least to me. It revolutionized my work. Lately some new skills taught to me by some very intelligent people in the "maker" community have inspired me to change my life, drop old habits that were destructive, and find new avenues of creativity. It may have even saved my life. I'm able to potentially double my income as well. I think computers allow us to connect with nature in new and special ways. Many structures in nature are the result of sets of simple rules. By observing nature and trying to recreate how things grow, we understand it more deeply, and we can create things that perform in ways that approach that of biological evolution. Or at least look that way. In any case, the democratization of computer tools can be a wonderful thing. You no longer have to be able to code in an obscure computer language, as graphical node-based systems and intuitive software interfaces are allowing even amateurs and artists to access the power of computation.

Well u r rightly correct in your own saying.
But i think we in india growing up in our ways of living. As i am inclined to westernization tv lovers since so many years. So its really my youth years i believed or had dreams of growing up in western country. But thats just wishful thinking in a sense. Whats i can derived that there are various fields there are institutions for that learning. Like if i travel to say london. Then apart from school education, i need to seek new learning by going to some institution. Where i meet learned men women in field of research and get to know various aspects of that particular field. Then computer is a secondary thing.
If computers education were to sold like potatoes and onions in india like most of these years....
Then i feel choked suffocated everyone is....
Like what we want to seek and turns out something else....

There are options to learn computers on-line. If you have a computer. I bet there is opportunity in India to apply these skills to real problems.

No, u didn't get it. Computer applications, porn, database, office applications, graphics related/ computing, pc games are secondary thing. Even 4th grade children in india know it.

I'm certain through public and private education that computers have been a great help in many ways to the students as well as the teachers. In many businesses computers are found doing many tasks and duties to help those in charge and those who work for them. As for my line of work I don't need to use them for I am a tradesman dealing with plumbing and electrical types of work. We still use blue prints to see what is needed to do and where things are located but those who draw up those plans use a computer.

Not for me, but i am imagining....that if the computer education were not introduced to the local population and sold like onions potatoes....and were secluded to only at home internet and offices. Cyber cafes and 3g networking is also not there. And some place unknown people brains are not mapped into my brain....
