I believe the dark side is just about as hot due to the green house effect. I’m only guessing as I don’t ever recall reading anything about night time Venus. Ill have to look that up.
Oh man... not this crap again. I remember posting in a thread on this topic some time ago. (now I remember why I don't visit very often) Speaking from the point of view of someone who understands how nuclear energy works, I can tell you with some pretty fair assurance that the whole idea of the earth's core being a giant, liquid metal cooled fast breeder reactor isn't very plausible. The power density of nuclear power is immense compared to other forms of energy. A five mile sphere would be one humongus prompt-critical bomb. There would be some incredibly huge and incredibly violent spontaneous energy releases coming from the core. On a whole other issue, who's refueling that reactor? :m:
Can we understand the earth's core appart from the origin of the universe as a whole? It seems that the planets and stars are like huge atoms, whose innermost nuclei unfold to the usual atoms we see to build them. What about the isotatic compensation? It is consistent this theory of a universe made of one self-reproducing interaction. The innermost core of the huge atom called Earth has to be very massive and thus it creates the isostatic compensation.
