Can phenylalanine and l-theanine be used for depression or chronic fatigue ?

Phenylalanine metabolises to dopamine and adrenaline, as well as having the ability to cross the blood brain barrier. So doesn't that make phenylalanine a viable antidepressant and to fight chronic fatigue ?

But on the other hand, since phenylalanine eventaully metabolises to dopamine...can someone get addicted to phenylalanine and get withdrawals ?
