my definition of a demon is anything that goes against God/Truth. so you could say demon/lies.

if this definition seems lacking maybe others can correct me

falseness can only have effect in the real world if people are willing to believe it.

I find demon possession to be a good metaphor for drug addiction. But I don't really believe in demons.

No, wait, that's the Devil. Completely wrong AD&D axis. Sorry about that. The Devil made me post that.

A demon is a made up supernatural thing that does not exist except in sci fi books, movies and tales.

Demons are the personification of God's evil side.

Easy: a computer program that runs as a background process, rather than being under the direct control of an interactive user.
    And it's spelt daemon.
Other than that it's a fictional entity that gets a lot of bad press.

A demon/daemon is nothing more than a maladaptive energy formation that emits a negative ionic charge in the temporal realm of thought, causing a person's thoughts to become polemic and self defeating towards himself and others. Such entities do exist, but not as we are traditionally taught. They are all around us and are just as normal an occurrence on this earth plane as are other life forms. Unfortunately they are of a parasitic nature and many humans are afflicted by their presence.

An evil supernatural being found in literature and movies. The movie Constantine comes to mind - the demons with just half a noggin were my favorites.

We pass through a multitude of energy fields on a daily basis; radio waves, microwaves, sound waves, etc. . As we do we pick up- as well as lose atomic mass, which affects us spatially and temporally. As for our thought processes, they sway and shift in accordance with the frequencies we encounter. Thus, we are subjected to said frequencies. Some of these frequencies we come across are maladaptive and have a negative affect on our brainwave frequencies and patterns, creating distortions in the temporal lobe of the cerebral cortex, which causes our thought patterns to shift in and out of alignment with the frequencies, as well as with our perceptions of reality in time and space. That such entities or occurrences exist, shouldn't be a mind boggling surprise. we are hosts to bacteria that can cause the same patterns of disruption, and they too can be classified as daemonic, or viruses and dis-eases if you prefer.

Maybe demons are illiterate and can't defend themselves.

It's not a matter of literacy, such a thing is only for the human thought realm. In the greater scheme of life functionality is the order of the day.

Daemons need not think, they only need to act /interact to exist.

Humans don't have to think in order to breathe, etc. it's an instinctive mechanism built in the dna code as a means of survival.

How do you know so much about demons? Are you getting information from outside the human thought realm?

Demons are idiots who spout pseudoscience and religious proselytizing on a science forum.
