    Nash did recover from schizophrenia at least. In the middle of the largest airbag recall in history, I would have had them disable the airbags and use seat belts exclusively for a while, but this is no game.

    The airbag manufacturer had what it perceived to be conflicting requirements for deployment in different temperature ranges, and this recall was the result. It's not an easy problem, gauging the strength of an explosive device dependent on temperature in a manner that has reliability requirements written to qualify it as a medical life support instrument. Even if it could be done, could you afford it?

    Global warming is not something to play games with. The stakes are too high, and airbags won't be the last technology to fail us if we don' stop playing games with greenhouse gasses and carbon emissions.

    Wearing seat belts is indeed more important than ever. At least, they won't fail to deploy properly when temperatures rise.
