It takes awhile for the Government schooled functional illiterates to make their way through to bowels of the system - I give the USA another 20 - 30 years. A slow waddle into obscurity and irrelevancy. Thus ends another chapter on the fruitlessness of Centralized violence/planning.

Well, the rest of the world is developing, and you think that's a bad thing? After WWII, the US accounted for more than half of world GDP. Now it's about a quarter of world GDP. The US economy hasn't shrunk. The world has grown. Only in your strange world Michael is that a bad thing.

The standard of living for Citizens of the USA have been decreasing year after year. The sorts of things increasing in the USA are our military budgets, federal regulations/loss of civil liberties and functional illiteracy rates.

LOL - your sentence is next to meaningless. (A) I'm doing perfectly fine. (B) Commenting on the State of Empire is neither an 'ideology' nor is it 'blaming' anyone. (C) I haven't created an 'ideology', though I'd suggest a few Kantian ones you may want to familiarize yourself with. Or not.

Oh, and where is your evidence which supports those assertions? Let me guess, you have none. You never do. The fact is Americans are living longer and are healthier than ever. More Americans now have access to healthcare, thanks to regulation(i.e. Obamacare) than at any time in the nation's history. Thanks to Social Security another one of those nasty socialist programs you hate, the elderly, orphans, and the disabled don't have to live on our streets and worry about starvation. Thanks to education and regulation, fewer Americans are smoking. Smoking is the exception and not the norm as it was a few decades ago. Americans have access to more goods and services than at any time in the nation's history.

Unlike your favored Mother Russia and contrary to your assertions, things are getting better for Americans. Name me ONE civil liberty Americans have lost Michael...just one. Show me which constitutional civil right you have lost.

America has declined compared to past, but the decline is not beyond repair. A renaissance will only require removing key liberal and democratic party policies, that are ushering in the decline.

The high illiteracy rates is due to liberal control of education. Private sector schools are cheaper by half and do very well in all measures of education.

Racism is a liberal chant used to consolidate voting blocks. The perception is not coming from the other side. They are blamed for it. The largest problem areas are inner cities controlled by the democratic party; Chicago. The Republicans have no control in Chicago, but still be blamed for all the woes. Illiteracy may be the tool needed so blacks can't fact check. If they can't fact check, you can lie easier to them.

Shipping jobs overseas, causing loss of middle class manufacturing jobs, is due to the high corporate tax rate, which is the highest in the world. This is being pushed by the tax and spend democrats. Even Communist China is much lower; 25% instead of 39%.

There are trillions of dollars of American money sitting idol in foreign tax shelter banks. The democrats prevent this money from coming back via threat of excessive taxes. This money could stimulate the economy, if we could get past the maffia shakedown technique of the democrats.

The liberal quota system has sacrificed quality in government in business; content of character, in favor of quality; color of skin or sex, causing a loss of services for the same costs.

your as bad as micheal. pushing ideology over facts. we only started to decline when we moved toward more conservative policies not liberal ones. america's heyday coincides with are most liberal period.

wrong as usual but than again maybe your confused as to the meaning of meaning
of course you mike your a member of the elite with an elitist mindset pushing elitist ideology
your ideology and penchant for blaming the failures of libertarianism on every other ideology are well know so yes it is.
i'm familiar with kant. i find it amusing your so enamoured to him considering your libertarianism is opposed to one of the key points of kants philosophy the idea of treating humans as an end rather than a means. I choose to be educated in all fields instead of really on propaganda from elitists thugs. and i never said you created an ideology only that you have one.

You must be very young. Thirty years is the blink of an eye. The sky has been falling much longer than that already.

And what "liberal and Democratic Party policies" would those be exactly?

Who says they are high? Michael? Compared to what? Where is your evidence private sector schools are better? It's easy to mindlessly repeat Republican Party memes as you do. It is quite another to produce evidence.

Democrats do tend to control large urban areas, especially in the North. But that doesn't mean Republicans are unfairly blamed. Where is your evidence Republicans are unfairly blamed? Where is your evidence "blacks" are any more misinformed than anyone else? Let me guess, you have none. You never do. If you and your fellow Republicans can fact check, why don't you?

Another case of mindless repetition, if you did a little goggling and fact checking you would know jobs were shipped overseas because major corporations wanted cheaper production. Corporations wanted cheaper labor and to evade environmental regulations (ie. to pollute) in order to cut their production costs. That had nothing to do with corporate tax rates. Moving jobs overseas does nothing to change the impact of corporate taxes on American businesses.

And if you did a little more goggling and fact checking, you would know Democrats also support reforming the tax code, including corporate taxation.

Well it is true businesses are holding large sums overseas because they don't want to incur the taxes repatriation of that cash would incur. But it isn't true Democrats are to blame. Both parties are to blame, but mostly Republicans because they have a problem agreeing with the Democrats on anything. Obama wants a 14% corporate tax rate. Republicans want a 25% corporate tax rate, but they don't want to tax existing overseas profits - basically Republicans want a massive tax forgiveness. You really should try doing some of that fact checking you like to talk about. You might learn something.

    http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-tax-reform-20150418-story.html#page=1

One more thing, corporations rarely pay the top tax rate because the tax code is riddled with loopholes. Some corporations pay NO taxes (e.g. GE a few years ago). So while the US has the statutory rate, the effective corporate tax rate (i.e. the rate corporations actually pay) is low (18%).

I really think you need to do some fact checking...just saying.

Give me a break, libertarians compose less than 1% of the voting block. The vast majority are left leaning Statists (Progressive Democrats) and right leaning Statists (Conservatives). Most Americans can not even conceive of living in a society where the State doesn't use redistribution as a means to 'provide' goods and services.

How'd children be educated without Government schools?! Think of the Children! The Children!!!

Americans are more aligned with Statism now, then at any other time in our history. Which is exactly how ALL societies 'progress' as a free society that creates prosperity (seen as a rise), followed by the Statists grabbing power and peddling redistribution as 'moral' which eventually leads to decline and finally End of Empire. Roma, China, Persia, Greece, England - and the USA.

I don't mean to say the USA will end, only that our place as hegemony will have ended in 20 - 30 years. I'd expect 80 - 100 years before people living in individual States finally realize the only path forward is to legally vote to get out of the Union.

What are you crapping on about? How about not requiring State permission to engage in trade? Examples include everything from being required a licence to cut hair to who can licence who can practice medicine - as well as who can practice. How about being able to work without paying a tax on your labor? How about not being forced to access the State's currency to pay said tax on labor? How about being able to consume a weed without being shot in the head by an agent of the State because some Progressive douche Statists thought giving Rx monopoly over to earlier stated rent-seekers was a good idea. How about being able to sell sex as an adult. AND etc... The USA was once a free place where Law and sound money informed most Americans decisions. In that America, proving value within the Law was the goal of most Americans. That and owning a piano. Not any longer.

Big ships like the Good Ship USA take centuries to go under - but they all go under.

Your place "as hegemony" has been eroding since World War Two and especially since Vietnam. You may still have the capacity to bully small nations but in terms of international respect, it's been over for a long time already.

I wouldn't be surprised if the USA splintered. Of course, 80 to 100 years is conveniently longer-than-life for a prediction. But it wouldn't be a "path forward" at all. It would be the equivalent of the Roman Empire inviting the barbarians in.

That's what you want to have happen, isn't it? So why the sour attitude? Obscurity and irrelevancy is your prime goal. I mean, the only way to be relevant in the world is to have an organization that could wage power.

I wouldn't waste my time basing any of my life's goals on the inevitable outcome of the USA. But, if I could pull a magic lever then no, I wouldn't opt for a slow long waddle into obscurity. I'd go for a quick 180 degree turn (say 10 years) back onto the path towards prosperity for most people. Essentially returning to the founding principles on which the nation was based. Individual liberty, law and sound money. Instead of wasting $3 trillion on phony wars and $5 trillion bailing out the crony Bankers we'd instead have directed those resources towards non-violent industries, including education and health. Which, if I had to state two goals, would be my goals.

Firstly, 100 years may not be long-than-life for a prediction. Medical technology is moving at blistering speeds, including reverse tissue ageing. Secondly, I based that on the facts that there will not be a barbarian invasion of the USA and the fact people simply normalize to a lower standard of living. North Korea's been sliding downhill to the point of eating their own children, for three generations. In the past total mismanagement of such a country would have resulting in being conquered decades ago. Not any longer. Just look at the pathetic state of many Government Housing pits. Horrible state of affairs, yet a perfectly normal features of most American cities. It'll take awhile for those housing pits to spread from one side of the city to the other, say.... 80 - 100 years.

you may be gullible enough to believe your talking points i'm not. libertarian influenced free market extremism has been the go to economic ideology for the past 30 years. so focusing on the percentage of voters rather than you know the ideas and ideologies being used is disingenious. so know i will not give you break as you once again attempt to blame your precious libertarian failed economics ideas on to other ideologies. this is the reason every one treats libertarians like a joke. their complete and utter inability to take responsibilty for their failures its always somebody else's fault. it not progressives cutting away at regulations that have allowed facism to take root its conservatives and libertarians who've done that. so please quit lying about history and own up to your beliefs failures. your a typical libertarian you think because you as an elitist is not allowed to harm your lesser's your unfree. you have know idea what true freedom and true oppression is. I don't know know about everyone else but I'd much prefer it if you stopped crying about your first world problems and actually educated your self instead of repeating talking points coming from a bunch of rich sociopaths.
