    Since the dawn of human civilisation the bravest from the west always wanted to cross all seven oceans and reach one place: India.
    Some suceeded , some didint...........
    Vasco Da gama, Amerigo vespuchi ( america is named after him), St. Thomas, Christopher columbus, Alexander the great, early romans, chinese, arabs, greeks, portuguese, dutch,french and finally the empire where the sun never sets: The British Empire.
    The sheer quantity of science, maths,biology, astronomy, engineering, Rock sculpture, the science of war (the west has a shimmer of it, named it : Chess), Music, flora,fauna, languages, costumes astonished them........................... But the biggest of it all they didint understand it at all : Sprituality.

    Is India the light of the World?
    Emphatically no!
    Australia's PM thinks the Sun shines out of his arse...This makes Australia the light of the world!

    As an Aussie, I certainly dont have a problem with that, I only have a problem with the dickhead of a PM we have at present.
    Light?? Light is simply part of the EMS that has the quantum state of having a dual nature of wave and particle...Otherwise I do not have a clue what you are on about.

    Electro magnetic spectrum and quantum state, great.
    Since you are into specifics affinity , Are you even reachable just to define those two.
    And then the scientist , year, proposing, if he had a nobel ,and other frequencies of spectrum.

    And perhaps you may find why light (of ur spectrum) is important..........

    From Tamas (Darkness) to Jyothi (Enlightenment . Light of bliss, faith, knowledge, of Eternity)
    From land of dead (where no one lives forever -- mortal world) take me to amrita lok (where no one dies)

    Just wait a few years until India has the same or more GDP than China....That until will be a looong time...due to too much pride and ignorance...

    Happy?

    Poverty in India - Statistics
    • 50% of Indians don’t have proper shelter;
    • 70% don’t have access to decent toilets (which inspires a multitude of bacteria to host their own disease party);
    • 35% of households don’t have a nearby water source;
    • 85% of villages don’t have a secondary school (how can this be the same government claiming 9% annual growth?);
    • Over 40% of these same villages don’t have proper roads connecting them.
    Happiest for whom? Not for a large majority of its children.

    India also accounted for the highest number of under-five deaths in the world in 2012, with 1.4 million children not reaching their fifth birthday.

    If happiness is lack of shelter, food, no access to sanitation or water, no access to education and stupidly high infant mortality rates, then sure, India is 'happy happy happy'.

    If happiness is McDonalds stuffed veins with fat, huge debt enslaved citizens, lowest sex life in the world, and furthermore...than sure USA is "happy, happy, happy"

    Money is not happiness.

    Rich houses made on mortgage loans is not happiness.

    Huge television sets with credit card loans is not happiness.

    Rich culture is Happiness

    Family ties and Family values is Happiness

    Smiles and sense of value in community and sharing is Happiness.

    That is why India is the Happiest country in the world, meanwhile USA with all its "high income and fat stuffed veins" is nowhere close to happiness.

    UN is based in NYC, its views are severely biased towards views of US preference.

    Their so called "happiness" are "services offered to its citizens" like family support and healthcare. That is NOT happiness, that is value of life. Estonia has high services, yet is suicide rate is one of the highest in the world? Why? Because people there are depressed, or NOT happy.

    Know what? I'm just gonna call bs on the whole 'people in India are the best' thing that's going on here. They sure as hell are far from being the happiest in the world.

    I see how you edited your prior post there, youreyes. Should've quoted you so you couldn't attempt to weasel your way out of it.

    ETA: Why is this in the science section? I asked before. I ask yet again.

    You are saying this about a country that has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the world, where a woman is raped at least every 21 minutes, where a crippling class system denies people the very basics of human rights and dignity.

    Dying in the streets and dying of starvation is not "happiness". You might value that as happiness, but it isn't. You ask those people who are scrounging around in rubbish dumps trying to find food to eat if they are happy as they are.. But to you, you see them smile and you think 'oh look, they are happy'.. Because perhaps you feel that this is how they choose to live or want to live. Rich culture doesn't put food on the table or ensure the survival of one's children, youreyes.

    Certainly, they are "happy" and they are some of the happiest people in the world. And that is because that is what they are expected to be.
