find a copy of "An Eligent Universe" @ your local book store or library. I can't hope to explain it any better.

Well -'Elegant' (Greene) - but I do agree. Unless you're a specialist.

    where to go for strings

Well, I asked myself the same question about a month ago and I came across superstringtheory.com. An EXTREMELY beginner-friendly website that explains everything from the origins of strings and how they account for modern particle physics. It is divided into beginner and advanced. Beginner for non-uni students; advanced for post-grads (very hardcore mathematics!). Anyway, it sure helped me!

    Cheers, have fun!
