I can't ignore a moderator, why?

The reason there isn't an ignore function is purely due to how the software is written. The idea from the designers point of view is that moderators, administrators etc are suppose to be able to message members or communicate with them on the odd occasion to try and sort out problems that might have arisen. For instance if someone posts content that isn't quite in with the site ToC, they can be asked to change that content or to support their arguement etc.

This does have the drawback that if a moderator is blatantly being obnoxious that you can't just stick them in the ignore block like a normal member.

Have you tried asking the moderator in question to stop doing whatever it is they've been doing for whatever reason?

I asked quite directly on an open thread yesterday.

But this does not guarantee that the moderator's constant ignoring of modern mainstream education will cease. Rather, they had been posting ludicrous arguments and adhering to centuries old teachings.

If it happens again, I most probably will PM an admin.

But anyway, say Farsight was a moderator. I wouldn't even come to this forum. And the moderator in question is acting similar. I know Farsight better than I know the moderator. So, right now it would appease me just to be able to ignore.

Make me a moderator and I'll sort out all the ad-hominem trolls and all the toe-curling sneering abuse that makes this forum look cringeworthy. I'll clean up Dodge. I mean, who around here has better physics knowledge than me? I'm the guy who can explain things, with rock-solid references and robust evidence to back up what I'm saying. And I have good experience of being a moderator. A real moderator, not some guy who knows f*ck-all physics playing thought-police and kicking good threads into pseudoscience.

Isn't the real complaint that a thread has been posted in the wrong section?
A moderator should be allowed to post as much crap as anyone else.
If you are talking about the moderator I think you are,

I was hoping to wake up and see a reply by JamesR ... If this thread itself helps, and or, my asking the mod to shut up, makes the nonsense in question stop, then I don't need to argue anything; i.e. I have to wait to see if if stops, before I attempt to trash the person.

So, if you want, close this thread. I can wait. I've expressed how I felt and made my pissy fuss in the OP, wanting to trash a moderator because I'm unable to put them on ignore - it's not fair.

If in the future I do start a thread or just continue to post, it shouldn't come as a surprise however.

 

Oh, yeah and, this thread is like a preemptive catharsis that prevents me from being frustrated by all the crap the moderator posts.
