That isn't true. We're not better than everybody else. We're just better than Americans.

And zero were in the hands of terrorists. About the closest they have come was the arrest of Kevin Brown, who had checked a bag containing ingredients for making pipe bombs. (It was not a threat to the flight.)

But don't take my word for it. Here's the TSA:

TSA executive admits not a single terrorist-related arrest has resulted from whole-body scanners
by Charles Leocha on May 17, 2012

    . . .
At a forum conducted by National Journal yesterday on aviation security, John Halinski, TSA’s Assistant Administrator for Global Strategies, claimed that the TSA mission was to protect passenger security. . . .

Halinski was asked directly whether there has been even a single instance of an arrest or detention of anyone, in any way, related to terrorism based on airport whole-body scanners. His answer was, “No.” Of course, he then went on to assert that the mere fact that we have these whole-body scanners is keeping terrorists away.

Based on the demographics on the people who carried them, zero. (Indeed, do you think 9/11 would have happened if each of those planes had an ordinary guy with a loaded gun with him?)

We cannot know for certain but yes, there would've been much less chance of the terrorists succeeding.

This is true. Mostly they seem to catch them at the entrance to military bases, at Jewish community centres and in schools. I don't mean to impose my view on strategy here, but those seem to be good places to look for them.
