The trick is getting your freudian subconscious to let your conscious know when when it detects an Illisision between your determinism and your free will.
Example: your broken jobless and running out of money on a train to California. You suck at physical labor so after you spend moths searching for a job away from your family you decide to cross the border to mexico and start up a business that sends illegal immagrants safely across the border into America. The only catch is they have to transport five LBS Lbs of Marijuana with them to your contacts on the other side. You Get rich and send your money back to your starving family through an account in the Bahamas.

Could you do this right now? Your free will allows you to start, But your determinism toward your family and against taking the time to set all the right connnections to validate the process slows down the pace of your free will toward this outcome.

That's only if your Super-ego does not oppose and do not stop you.

I'm sorry but this OP is crazy and although i'd expect to maybe hear something like this in a church I am surprised to read it here.

Asking questions about REALITY which begin with "what do you gain from believing...", "what is the benefit..." etc... is the purview of the religious. Imo this is where their wishful thinking slips out almost unintentionally, because they would never admit outright that they believe their religion is FACTUAL purely because they like it.

Same is true here: if someone GENUINELY wants to understand the truth of things they do not worry about whether or not it'll improve their lives and they would cringe at the idea of believing anything other than the truth simply because the truth doesn't smell as rosy.

In the strongest possible sense, LOL

Free will is an inherent character of “being” Is it an illusion? No its not, because its inherent. But it may appear illusory, if the individual does not understand factors that deny its independence. We cannot think of free will without considering the nature of the “Mind” and how it operates. One question we must contend with, is the Language of Thought. For thoughts, determine the operation of the mind, which govern “free will” Thoughts, have no language. Whatever we use to communicate are mare “tools of consciousness” The Mind, is to the Brain, what the software is to the hardware. Human consciousness is a self-governing law, which operate like a computer program. So, a human being programs himself and creates the “self”

This, however, is not always the case, since the character of a person is influence by two factors. One, is “Self-suggestion” and the other is “Auto-suggestion” Self-suggestion refers to all internalized thoughts generated by your own intuition. Auto-suggestion refer to ideas, which are received from outside, and are accepted with absolute faith and internalized as your own. Auto-suggestion mostly affect free will, because you allow other people to create your “self” This results into “lemming effect”

If you consider "free will" to be illusory, you set yourself up for indoctrination.

Free will mostly goes against "group thinking" and therefore, those who seek to be independent are normally seen as nonconformist ans therefore "danger" to the group.

What is the appeal of believing free will to be genuine?

Human mind is like a computer program with an "open loop" which presumes intelligence that can make decisions. Therefore the capacity for a human being to judge, and make the decision to accept one choice over another confirms the genuineness of free will. But this free will can be manipulate, and hence appear as not genuine. Eg. in case of entangled consciousness in group thought as in tribes, cults, gangs, etc.

What is the appeal of believing free will to be genuine?

    Ok. Let me try again.

The appeal is, the need for the society to make the individual as being responsible for their deeds. I think you cannot refute that one. If there was not appeal for believing people as having free will, people would be have as animals.

If you believed you have no free will, you would behave as an animal?

    Since I know I have freewill, I don't know how not to believe in freewill I cannot go where I never was;

Man’s Mind stretched by a new idea, never goes back to its original dimensions.”

Again & again, you do not answer questions or properly address the issue.

False. People sometimes change their beliefs and ideas then later go back to their old ways of "thinking".

Since you know everything is illusion, you cannot know you have free will.

Believe is a choice, made by a creature with free will. A Dog had no beliefs, nor do cats of or chickens. Animals to not believe. They do not know that they are animals. They just are. A dog does not even know that its a dog. They have no personalities, only behavioral treats, which help them distinguish each other. So, when you ask me if I believed I had no freewill whether I would behave an animal you are asking an illogical question. Believes are for people only.

Objective Reality is an Illusion. Reality is Unity. And this Unity is not an Illusion.

You claim everything is illusion then you claim you know what is & what is not illusion.
