I wonder why no one ever used that quote before you made it up? Could it be that capitalism has been overall a success while communism was a miserable failiure? Well, at least that's one way Russia has added to the world's store of knowledge - as a lesson of what _not_ to do. We will see if Putin learns the lessons of history or merely repeats history's mistakes. So far he looks eager to go for a repeat.
Russian troops are now storming into Ukraine, here's a video: http://www.vox.com/2014/8/28/6078831/video-russian-tanks-eastern-ukraine Maybe if Germany buys up all of Russia's oil and gas, the troops will run out of supplies and return home.
Or they'll take a sudden vacation in Saudi Arabia where they'll realize that the russian speakers there require protection.
The video at your link shows large number of tanks, APCs etc. but judging by sun angle (see spot on road lift up to side of tank as it passes) they are heading east more than west at least during the video's portion of the road at about 10AM.
Putin reminds the world he has nukes. http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/30/world/europe/ukraine-crisis/?c=&page=1
Maybe he should listen to good advice. http://m.theweek.com/article/index/257406/what-would-a-us-russia-war-look-like I think the West must move immediately to maximum sanctions. The gloves need to come off.
West propaganda doing its work. Ukraine is loosing its control over East and will continue on doing so, no matter what sanctions Obama with NATO comes up with.
and how will the east (of Ukraine) survive without it's west? It's mines were amongst the worlds deadliest with around 300 deaths a year they are notoriusly under financed they are also partially flooded (a problem that's going to get worse before it gets better). Also the reason why no investments where being made in the safety of these mines (even tough Kiev payed for that) is because these mines are runed mafia style. then theirs the damage to the infrastructure and the fact 300 000 peope have left the area (it's not certain they will return)
interesting how a couple of cut power lines and a mild sabotage act in Vuhlehirska would turn of the power in the entire rebel controlled area.
From putin's own mouth as reported by Russian media: Putin has called for a discussion on the 'statehood' of eastern Ukraine, Russian media has reported....The Russian President's use of the word 'statehood' comes after he recently referred to regions in eastern Ukraine as "Novorossiya" (New Russia).
Are you kidding me? Do you even know about Donbass even the least? Donbass or East Ukraine region is one of the most industrial regions and contains numerous corporations unparalleled to West Ukraine even closely, no wonder most of the Oligarchs are based in East Ukraine. Steel, coal, aeroplane parts, rocket parts, heavy machinery, list goes on...
Novorossiya is a self proclaimed identification of the separatist region of East Ukraine, referring to the name carries no ulterior meaning (unlike Americans who use *freedom protesters* for the pro-US people and *rebels/terrorists* for anti-US policy people.
It is a Russian "self proclamation" of its neighbor's land. And your American claims, as is the norm with you, are ridiculous and totally without merit or evidence.
I think it is time for NATO troops to go on vacation in Ukraine. Perhaps they can visit with the Russian troops vacationing in Ukraine. Oh the conversations they could have. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Mark Paslawsky, nephew of Lebed(butcher of jews) , hated russians------ We know almost nothing of the motivations of the factions.
I don't suppose you have any credible evidence to support any of that crap? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! No you don't because it doesn't exist.
From my: Mark Paslawsky, nephew of Lebed(butcher of jews) , hated russians------ We know almost nothing of the motivations of the factions. joe You should have learned by now not to challenge me or my information................. You should know that Mark was wespoint, volunteered to fight with an antirussian militia, died "shot in the back", and as quoted from one of his squadmates: “He really hated the Russians. We all hate the Russians.” You seem a tad hawkish on this subject. You would choose sides in this stinking quagmire of hatred? Were you also planning to go and fight there? Enlist, put your body on the line in support of your words? .............. based on your I believe I'm due an apology ........................ If you're just having fun, that's ok too
The mines are in serious trouble, the industry your talking abouth is energy intensive (and the power plants are not in rebel territory) also the Donbass is a special economic zone (SEZ). In short the region is state sponsord. And then theirs offocurse the history from similar regions (namely North Korea, Transdniestria, Abkhazia and South Ossetia) it has never ever turned out good and has been been catastrofical bad with the exception of Abkhazia (that has the fortune to be slightly worse with no prospects of a better future). Without Ukraines money (and electricity) the region will need to find money to continue not to mention to repair all the damage whilst the people can relativly easly move towards Ukraine or Russia, that means taxes will fall income will fall further and things will turn not so bright. Russia can not provide that can't of money, all the smart people will migrate either to Ukrainia proper, Russia or the EU. And all those that will remain will be the Oliarchs and those to docile to move in a region whose economic value is hard to determine because up to 40% of it could be a shadow economy. I do believe this post in fundamentaly true but I'm interested in your opinion (in very short terms) 1 the infrastructure is damaged (increasingly) because of the war 2 many mines are badly maintained and are partially (increasingly) flouded 3 the energy necesairy to run it's (heavy) industry does not come from the region 4 it's Special Economic Zones status doesn't provide confidence with investors (not to mention it's history of it and similar breakaway regions) 5 It will be to easy for the (smart) people living there to move to escape the hartship 6 Russia is in competition with Ukraine concerning steel and has recently (July) scrapped a duty free import from Ukrainian steel Putin also suffers a strong Russian steel loby to protect domestic steel 7 Corruption is widespread in the region
LOL, and where is the credible proofs? I know who Mark Paslawsky was. I am still waiting for credible proofs of any of your assertions. To date, you yet to proven even one of your delusional rants.
