Any one considered the idea that Putin (Russian Government) may have lost control of some of it's military?
Certainly seems like it to me...and they can not admit to it for obvious reasons.

In fairness I really think you should credit the Ukraine army as leading the assault backed by the US, and apparently Canada. Has putin ever had a girlfriend? Do you think that's somehow in the mix?

dude, you are from the only country that used nukes to kill millions of civilians, has instigated rebellions across the globe in countries that opposed it, and is now screwing with internal affairs of Ukraine. And you dare tell me your government of USA is not NAZIST?

Dude, I hoped for a moment you might be honest. Unfortunately your post proves that is not going to happen.

A battalion of defectors? That is a lot of defectors. If true, that indicates a serious breech of command and control of Russian Army.

And now your story changes again! I can hardly wait for the next changes.
"Look, they just accidentally crossed the border while pursuing some criminals."
"OK, so they just got lost towing some artillery, and they figured they'd fire it a few times while they were there. Haven't you ever heard of cleaning the barrels?"
"So maybe they were fighting a few Ukranians. What are they supposed to do, let themselves get shot at?"

Geez, you went right to Nazi. The problem there is you have sort of blown your wad. How will you escalate the next time Putin kills some people, or sends more troops into the Ukraine? You've got nothing left.

Remind me again was the US or Russia that defeated the Nazis in World War 2? Who drove back all those armies of the third Reich?

Remind me again why Stalin begged the Allies to establish an additional Western front in Normandy, when they already had one in Italy. Remind me why it is that half of the reports shown on PT (Putin Today) are about how America's penis isn't really so much mightier than Russia's, or at least how it wouldn't be if the latter were able to complete a 12 step program and stick to it for more than a week.

And remind me again who supplied Russian/Soviet troops in WWII with food and weapons? And remind me whose country got their butts kicked by Nazi Germany until US supplies began arriving on their doorsteps courtesy of the US government? Just because Western allies allowed Russia to take Berlin, it doesn't mean Russia/Soviet Union won the war, quite the contrary just look a WWII military casualties. Russia suffered 14 million military deaths and 28 million total deaths during WWII to capture 222 miles of German territory. Compare that to the US who with its allies captured more than a 1,000 miles of German territory, while fighting WWII in Africa, Philippines, Japan and Italy and numerous Pacific islands, crossed two oceans and defeated the Nazi and Japanese navies and suffered only 407K military deaths and only a few thousand civilian deaths while supplying allied forces (including Mother Russia/Soviet Union) with food, arms and materials. Now Youreyes wants to tell the world Mother Russia defeated her former ally single handedly, Nazi Germany...really? That is some serious rewrite of history not to mention the height of hubris. Where was Russia/Soviet Union in Africa, Italy, Philippines, Pacific islands, Burma, China, or Japan, oh that is right, she wasn't there. But people like Youreyes would have us believe that Mother Russia was responsible for wining WWII, in reality Mother Russia was more like a poor lost child who had to be picked up, nourished and cared for during WWII and after for that matter. As recently as last year, the US was still delivering tens of millions in foreign aid to Mother Russia.

No plans were made by the Western Allies to seize the city by a ground operation.[27] The Supreme Commander [Western] Allied Expeditionary Force, General Eisenhower lost interest in the race to Berlin and saw no further need to suffer casualties by attacking a city that would be in the Soviet sphere of influence after the war,[28] envisioning excessive friendly fire if both armies attempted to occupy the city at once.[29] The major Western Allied contribution to the battle was the bombing of Berlin during 1945.[30] During 1945 the United States Army Air Forces launched a number of very large daytime raids on Berlin and for 36 nights in succession, scores of RAF Mosquitos bombed the German capital, ending on the night of 20–21 April 1945 just before the Soviets entered the city.[31] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Berlin#Background

A wartime cartoon in The New Yorker shows the docks of Murmansk covered with off-loaded containers and a Soviet official having trouble finding the word "spam" in the dictionary. Spam was one of the many food items sent to the former Soviet Union by the United States under the Lend-Lease Program first suggested by Winston Churchill, to which the United States contributed the major portion. The subject has been previously covered by such books as Hubert van Tuyll's Feeding the Bear (1989), but the present well-written text has the advantage of access to Russian sources, which were put to good use by Albert Weeks. The author makes a clear case that the program was a major factor in the survival of the Soviet Union and the victory over Nazism. http://www.historynet.com/russias-l...d-to-the-ussr-in-world-war-ii-book-review.htm

My father was one of those American sailors who risked their lives to deliver food and arms to the Soviet Union during WWII.

    Wow

    http://www.counterpunch.org/2014/08/29/obamas-catastrophic-defeat-in-ukraine/

    Quotes

“We are currently witnessing an epic and historic event. The Ukrainian regular army and the punitive battalions are suffering a catastrophic defeat to the south of Donetsk…..It still is not quite clear how the Junta intends to avoid a complete defeat here…. By squandering the most combat-capable brigades in systematic offensive operations, the Junta sustained enormous losses and at the same time suffered a crushing, purely military defeat. The southern front has collapsed.” – The Southern Front Catastrophe – August 27, 2014″, Colonel Cassad, Military Briefing, Novorossiya, Ukraine

“Over the week of August 16-23, the self-defense fighters of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics seized 14 T-64 tanks, 25 infantry fighting vehicles, 18 armored personnel carriers, one armored reconnaissance and patrol vehicle, one Uragan multiple launch rocket system, two Gvozdika self-propelled artillery guns, four D-30 howitzers, four mortars, one ZU-23-2 air defense system and 33 vehicles.” (East Ukraine militias seize large amount of Ukrainian armor, Itar Tass)

So, who do you believe; Kerry or the facts? And who are you going to believe this time; “Aluminum tubes” Gordie or Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) monitor Andrey Kelin who said yesterday:

“We have said that no Russian involvement has been spotted, there are no soldiers or equipment present.”

“Accusations relating to convoys of armored personnel carriers have been heard during the past week and the week before that. All of them were proven false back then, and are being proven false again now.” (RT)

Repeat: “No Russian involvement”. All the accusations “were proven false.” “False” as in fake, phony, propaganda, bunkum, lies which, by the way, appears to be Gordon’s area of expertise.

Where is your evidence? There are eye witnesses, videos, pictures, satellite photos, radar images, which all say the official Russian accounts are lies. Russian officials, including Putin, have admitted the lilies (e.g. the little green men in Crimea). So you just want to mindlessly believe the Russian accounts and ignore the mountains of evidence. That probably explains why Russia has had more than a century of bad leadership.
