I just read that mount chimborazo in Chile is is the furthest from the center of the earth than any other place on earth. Simply jackass the waste barrels up to the summit where the cannon is mounted; minimum distance out of our atmosphere, through least dense atmosphere, with the least amount of gravity. problem solved.

    Dr Lou Natic,
So that explains why trench dwelling creatures look the way they do

How would popping open a can of glass rods, at teh bottom of the ocean, destroy all life on earth? Besides, by the time such a shift happens, the radioactivity will be much less, and in those threnches, they're more likely to be buried by such a shift.

That's true! Besides the rich and famous should be able to leave the earth and go to their interplanetery ressorts should an unfortunate event occur in about 5-10000 years

Thanks for the frightening posts, gents.

First, Persol must be mad!! Job security for the mountain burial? Are you planning on sabotaging the burial so as to get a contract for the upgrade model? Hee hee ...

Dr. Lou ... Brilliant. I've started thinking that - in the event life on Earth has existed for longer than we think due to Tectonic plate movements erasing EVERYTHING known to life - such events will likely occur again and bring back everything we buried. Maybe that's where the idea of the living dead came to be.

    Vampires? Zombies?

    Nope. Nuclear waste.

I hope for the best ...

    Unbelievable.

Just recycle the waste. Then its gone. Jeez.

look at how many millions of dollars it cost to send space probes to other parts of the solar system. Launch costs are the reason why we haven't been back to the moon in over 30 years. You want to send "heavy" elements into deep space. I dont think so.

A better option would be to build nuclear power plants in space. Beam the electricity to Earth in the form of microwaves before converting it back to electricity. Then it would be quite easy to send waste spiralling into the sun. Ofcourse, we can't do that either. Look at how much the ISS cost to build.

We are such a wasteful society. We use nuclear fuel once then throw it away and complain about it. Just recycle it. Reduce the cost of electricity and the amount of uranium mining by making the fuel last longer. No waste. Nothing to moan about. Blame the ecowackies for getting recycling banned. Launching it into space is ridiculous.
