I have heard the testimonies first hand of East Germany survivors. Of having to wait 3 years on a waiting list, to get an apartment, or 2 years to get a compact car. Or waiting in lines, that wrap around around the block waiting for bread, meat, or butter.

I didn't realize that places like Frankfurt, Heidelbeg and Stuttgart were 'really small villages'.

    How's that Euro working out?

Give it to Hollywood? I think you mean invest in Hollywood movies. So what? People from all over the world do that. It's probably a better financial risk than investing in the German economy.

    )

The idea of mustard agent in water sounded rather strange to me, so I was looking it up. I found this:
    http://eca.sbccom.army.mil/fs/effects_hd_spill_waterways.htm

    which says:

The Army has analyzed the most likely scenario involving the Edgewood mustard agent stockpile, which is a spill from a single steel container. Any contamination will be minimal and short-lived, because the vapor will be carried and dissipated by winds. There is a possibility that some mustard agent may be mixed with water, however, the concentration would be so low that there would not be a health threat, based on computer model simulations. It is important to note that the greatest risk from such an accident is the airborne vapor plume. The airborne concentrations are of greater magnitude than potential contamination in water, but these concentrations are also expected to be short lived.

I realise that the concentrations and amounts may be different, but it also seems that mustard agent is partly neutralized by water:
The mustard agent reacts with water to form a biodegradable liquid byproduct called hydrolysate. The hydrolysate consists of water, thiodiglycol (an organic compound also found in ink) and hydrochloric acid
    -http://eca.sbccom.army.mil/fs/neut_bio.htm

The cyanide may not be good though.

    A note on cyanide

I just wanted to mention that maybe it's just a private school thing, but we had cyanide in my high school's laboratory. Seriously, it might sound like a bad idea in 2003, but in 1990 we were all smart enough to want nothing to do with the contents of the bottle.

The point is that high school students can make cyanide, apparently. I wouldn't know specifically, though, because in this bizarre place having the head of the science department and the chemistry teacher themselves begging on my behalf would not convince the academic dean to end an atypical crusade against me the like of which apparently nobody had ever seen. (Longer story than is necessary here.)

I asked one of the teachers one day about the cyanide. "Oh, yeah. It's real. Keeps everything calm in the lab when you're working with something that can kill you in seconds."

I asked around. He had to be kidding me. No. We had cyanide in my high school's chemistry lab.

(I also saw the same damn brown jars of cyanide in college. I didn't ask around at the time because I had already come to conclude that yes, that was a big brown bottle of cyanide ... for a long time, it didn't seem strange to me. But now that I write it down, it seems absolutely bizarre.)

And also I heard on PBS tonight that the boxes of powder discovered at a suspected chem/bio training facility turned out to be explosives.

    :m:,

Why is it that many Americans are hoping that we don't find WMD?

Bad news today for the anti-Bush pro Saddam crowd. It looks as though our Marines have turned up some canisters in a weapons dump.

The have located hundreds of boxes containing human remains.

This could be bad news for the Democrats. Good news for the Iraqi people. Good news for the USA, Bad news for the Russians, French, Germans and anti American Liberal Democrats.

TAC: MSNBC, Expect the worst from the US Jewish owned and operated media.... I mean, a network that hires mentally deranged Michael Savage--can't be too swift, huh?

Wasn't it just a couple of months ago the US media "revealed" that Saddam has been trying to import uraniam from a little country in Africa.

The US inspectors followed up on this report and found this information given the US "by a un-named country" ( Isriol ) was falsified material.

Oh-Mi-God, the MOSSAD is but a "Mere shadow of its former self!"

The US' Jewish media's Mossad unit strikes again--oh my!

TAC: A closer look ( Le Monde, Jerusalem Post, Arutz-7, The Leprechaun Daily in Cork, Ireland ) indicate that the cannisters were all manufactured in Israel, jajajaja!

    Oh Well!

    TheAZCowBoy,

American's are hoping ( or is it hopping? ) that no WMD are found in Iraq because there aren't any--unless you want to count the Pentagon/Mossad's covert contributions to these US/Israeli lies.

I guess you've forgotten about the Pentagon's propensity to lie--like the lies that brought on the intense barbaric bombing of North Vietnam--the US "Tonkin Resolution," LIE!

i dont know if saddam has really wmd´s ,but if he has ,it was the right way !
only your country has the right to arm itself to the teeth ?
and nobody is pro-saddam at all (me included ) ;there are only few europeans (like me) and almost the whole arab world hoping that saddam has a chance to defend himself against your superior firepower !

come and get some real tough "figthing for freedom" in Tibet or N.Korea
