Well I agree with that to an extent, they(humans) aren't important to the species we know of today, we are here to kill alot of them in my opinion, but we will be important to the species of the future because, I believe, we will be indirectly helping them kick off their evolutionary story BY wiping out the species we will/have wipe/d out.
But you'd be surprised(or perhaps you know) how many species ARE keeping us alive right now.
The only reason life as complex as it is CAN exist is because of the many species of life that are prevalent at the time.
Most things are unknowingly helping most other things. This is a fact.

    thank you, and we're sorry

we were not sure where else to put this and we probably weren't as considerate as we should have been, trying to take over your thread or whatever. we thought that this issue would fall into phsycology and that would be human nature. we probably should have been better prepared. we're sorry.
it was three in the morning, too, if that might have anything to do with our idiocy. so sorry.
and thank you for helping. honestly, looking back at what we all did, i don't think we deserved it.

If what you say is true sir, then how come our population keeps on rising instead of decreasing? No matter how much we blow each other up, we keep on surviving and reproducing like rabbits. It's our nature. And even if evolution tries to repress us, we'll just adapt and move on.

    arrgh
    ignorance is bliss isn't it?
And how long can our population keep increasing? Ever think of that? Planet earth isn't a bottomless pit of resources. Eventually we will kill ourselves. We aren't self sufficient. We can't live off our own skin.
We haven't even been around for 1 million years and I have no doubt in my mind we won't reach that milestone. That will officially make us THE single most shortlived species of all time. We have such a short history and yet, you seem to think you can judge our future on that history and assume we will adapt and move on forever.
This is ridiculous and if you had any knowledge of natural history you would see how ridiculous you sound.

True we may be using our planet's natural resources at an astonishing rate, but, we are finding ways to renew these sources and to curb the rate at which we use them. Plastic can be recycled, trees are regrown, and new technology is offering an alternative to using harmful oil. We may have made some mistakes, but we are recovering.
