Maybe I missed that news story, but did the Isreali government start rounding up the Palestinians, putting them in camps, and gassing them to the last man/woman/child? Have they been using the Palestinians as slave labor? Stealing thieir money and possessions? Isreal doesn't begin to compete with Nazi Germany.

Isreal is surrounded on almost all sides by nations who have publically sworn to destroy them. Over they past 50 years of their existance as a nation they've learned to be hard. It's both helped and hurt. They deal with the Palestinians harshly quite often. But what do you expect when someone walks into a crowded market strapped with explosives and procedes to send as many of surrounding souls into the next world as possible. Not only that but do it in the name of God. People who believe that they're going to paradise for commiting murder.

How do you deal with that?

 

Obviously, you can't deal with it effectively through continued antagonism.

 

Agreed. Violence begats violence. People live by the old saying 'an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth.' Both sides have been fighting for a long time and hatred runs deep.

How far back do you wish to go with the history of tresspassing? The Jews lived in the area about 3 or 4 thousand years ago till around a thousand years ago. And prior to that another group did. So who is the land actually confiscated from? Who 'confiscated' the land from the Jews in the first place?

I don't seem to recall Isreal stating that any of it's soldiers who died while defending the nation from the Arabs were going to paradise filled with virgins in the here-after. Please point out any evidence of my being wrong on this point. Preferably with a text copy of the proclimation rather than just stating 'and the jews dont?' in your responce.

I'm in agreement that the Jews shouldn't create any more settlements. I've believed that for a while. It just creates more tension and stress in the region. The Jews leaving Isreal isn't likely to happen. Now as before it's their home too.

No one has a right to take Palestinian land to make a homeland for a people that had been kicked out by the Romans over 1700 years prior, from that very land. So, the minute Jews started taking the land, was the minute it all started.
