Wow, hyperbole much? Firstly none of the fringe people here have managed to come up with anything which have resulted in innovative science. So even if you were all banned that wouldn't have any impact on science, as you don't have any impact anyway. Secondly there's a difference between you posting nonsense here and in the fringe section. Here there's a modicum of standards involved. Do you think the link you provided was to something of decent standard? I hope not. Telling you that it's clearly not of a decent standard is a long way from "I wish I could ban you all!". I have no problem with people having interesting, innovative ideas provided they are tempered by reason and some knowledge. Just making up crap is quite different. You have this chip on your shoulder that when I tell you to stop posting nonsense here or point out the terrible quality of your sources you take it as some desire of mine to shut down ALL discussion not about the mainstream or between people with degrees in science. No, I'm asking you to raise your level of discussion to be of worthwhile quality. If you want to post incoherent nonsense then go to the fringe section, where it is tolerated. You aren't immune from having criticism given in that section (though you seem to think otherwise) but you're able to post nonsense there at least. If you don't want to be held to some half decent standard when it comes to the sources you provide in this forum then stop posting. You claim to have a PhD so you should be capable of engaging in reasonably informed discussion and know what good references look like compared to the crank journal you linked to. I'm sorry if you think wanting people to understand what a good reference is, compared to a hack journal, equates to a desire to stamp out all desenting voices but that's your problem, not mine. Actually, I'm not sorry, you don't elicit enough interest from me to really care what you think. Nevertheless if you cannot tell when a journal is clearly of terrible quality then I suggest you refrain from using any journal references in your posts. If expecting minimal standards from you, someone who supposedly has a PhD in a science, is too much to ask of you then perhaps you'd prefer not to post here? /edit And I posted this here, not via PM, so others can see how its important to be able to tell the difference between a hack source and a reputable source and how saying "That's a terrible source of information" is not some authoritarian boot stamping down on innovation. In fact it's the opposite. Innovation requires imagination and knowledge. You cannot ignore one and concentrate on the other. As such you need to be able to identify good science from bad and you need to be willing to accept corrections. I use 'you' in a general sense, referring to anyone, but it particularly applies to you, wlminex.

There are two things about that patent that SHOULD strike you full in the face: 1. The simple issuance of a patent in NO way indicates it will actually work as claimed (many people don't know this and apparently you are among them); 2. If such a device actually worked, in the four years since the issuance of that patent we'd have HUNDREDS of such devices scattered everywhere - including many that would have replaced existing power generating plants. What I find stunning about this is that YOU claim to have a PhD and yet cannot see that the device described here is completely BOGUS!!!
