BERLIN (Reuters) - No more Coca-Cola or Budweiser, no Marlboro, no American whiskey or even American Express cards -- a growing number of restaurants in Germany are taking everything American off their menus to protest the war in Iraq. http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle....FEGSCRBAEKSFEY?type=worldNews&storyID=2446663
America will suffer dearly for their satanic unjust war against Iraq, even if they win this illegal war, the long term consequences for their barbaric terrorist actions will devastate America. Now, the boycott of american products is spreading all over the world, even in the remote parts of Russia where some American tourists used to come are now refusing to welcome them. America might win the war, but they lost the world.
You are taking about some iraqi exiles traitors. Why the iraqis INSIDE iraq hate you and did not welcome you with flowers and music ????????????????????????????? Helen - please stop quoting the entire post previous to yours unless you are breaking it into individual points you wish to address.
Helen, You should look out your window. Why there may be troops in your flower beds. You never know.... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I’m boycotting us in every possible way! …I didn’t like our first retaliation against French Fries! As if been against the war was a crime.
Boycott American goods all you want. It will only further the decline of Europe's economic socialist quagmire. And don't get me started on the legalities of war with Iraq....it is most assuredly legal.
How could that be? I’m now drinking more and more European wines, hell almost every night I’m crawling to my bed. Good stuff, I wish I would have started doing it long time ago. I also use Olive oil by the litters and have changed my GM bathtub for a nice Volvo. I’m also considering getting rid of my lady (depends how long the war will go), and change her for a nice Italian Mama. …so Junior, by boycotting, I mean boycotting our products,…. You see the differences?
Europe is just pissed that they are screwed big time. Their economies are so fragile....Where the hell is the Euro? Don't hear much about it, on the other hand, I was in Latin America and before that in the middle east, and people loves the dollar and it has replaced many other currencies all together....Elsalvador government is an example. Helen....You have no place in the civilized world...you'll be a sixty year old poor rebel.... bye my old flower child.
Boycott America is laughable I think that it is just funny that any European would think that boycotting American products would matter. Maybe it makes them feel some degree of importance in a world where they are increasingly less so. However, they have a right to do so just as I have a right to boycott anything from France. I cancelled a tour schedule for the Lyon area next summer. My company has an office in that area and I hope to have it moved to Barcelona by the beginning of next year. As long as I am alive, I will do everything I can to financially and strategically harm the nation of France. If the Europeans want to get into a financial war, I welcome it. Let's see who wins this one too!
Part of the trouble with a boycott is that it would be a temporary thing. The US economy is a driver in the world markets and everyone competes for access to it. Simply, it is where the money is. Long term boycott will only cut the throats of those who are in business to make money. Not something that will be welcome for the long haul. Do remember that it works both ways. Should the world markets think that it can be successful and try it there would be repercussions in the US market. Trade embargos will not help anyone. Not us, not them.
funny to read about forum members contesting the economic effects of boycotts ... not drinking a cola in downtown gummersbach is not going to tilt the world trade order .. its more about expression ... protest ...
Precisely. You know, in France, there's a ratio quota for American vs. French/European movies. Simply put, because if they let our culture in the door they get their clock cleaned. Big time. I saw pictures of an anti-American rally in Germany last week. One of the guys was drinking a Coke.
In the world of financial turmoil you call European economies Fragile? How come their average foreign debt as percentage to GPD is a lot, lot less then with us? How are they managing to have a better social security system, better medical system, 6 weeks annual leave, and less homeless the us?? The dollar? Sure, is the most popular currency since most of this world is poor and underdevelopment having to deal in a single currency for their exports and imports, it has been traditionally the US dollar. But that doesn’t help our (Billions) foreign debt, does it? Our American flag? Well, the way I see it overseas, it appears more and more frequent to be use as a casual barbeque. But, don’t worry, I still boycotting us Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
