1st- There isn't such a thing as legitimate rape. Rape is rape. 2nd- Highly likely. (Not necessarily a woman.) 3rd- It depends on the type of rape and the mental state of the man. Secretive, denial, attempts to avoid punishment, intimidation, boasting, collecting souvenir(s), obsessive behavior, stocking and claiming to be "in love" are all common. 4th- He doesn't always. Some are pathological. Some seek religion.
Seagypsy thanks for sharing. Rape is part of my background as well. I have gone through the legal process. The survivor is the one on trial; not the rapist. Years later, because of this. I didn't report.
I do not know of any studies, but one thing I do know mostly from personal experience is that is a lot more to do with how the mother copes and moves on, whether real justice is served and whether she is able to find peace.
 I was talking about kids when you answered me. But since you went there if no justice is ever served, an she gives birth can she ever truly find a "peace". Or as you an seagypsy are victims, is there ever a time that they ever really just cope and move on. Don't this experience just keep haunting you.
