I need to add a comment to the above and introduce you to three more things about the game.

Correct - you will not be attacked before you reach level 10 *BUT* even then the pirates never touch your cash. That's just sort of a red-herring in the game.

Now about the bank: You can access the bank from any planet while you are docked. It's located on the red option bar just below the blue status bar where your status (armor, hull, cash on hand, fuel, etc.) is displayed. There, you can transfer credits back and forth between your ship and bank account. Also, inside the bank you will find the stock market and I suggest you play it. Just like the real market, the prices go up and down - so be careful and don't put TOO much of your spare cash in because it might not be available when you want it.

I keep my portfolio at the max and usually make about 500,000 credits every 7 to 10 days.

And then there's the GBM (Galatic Buyers Market) and the PM (Players Market). The GBM is where you can buy resources and other stuff and the PM is where you can sell it. In addition, you can talk to other players and strike deals to buy/sell directly between the two of you. In fact, I have deals in place with two players to sell me everything they turn out. And if even THAT'S not enough, there's also a Buy/Sell Forum that's accessible through the drop-down menu (labeled "Interaction") on the right side of the screen.

I'm only lvl 18 yet I have 120 Cargo, 3 implants, mining drones, Shields, speed boost +3, 180-250 gun, and $15 million plus credits. I can already afford the lvl 23 ship I want... The game is fun.

I am now lvl 24 with a new ship called "Trader" haulage class, and a cargo bay of 360. The game is surely interesting but has some flaws. I now feel like I must refresh wesbec 100 times to fill my cargo bay. I have the best weapon for my previous lvl, and a decent shield equipped along with combat dones and matrix shield re generators, and multiple ablative armour. I have space suit, oxygen, med kit, and some decent scanners and drills. I don't think there is another lvl 24 geared as well. During an IP reset i discovered I could forego mining skill and have my drones mine for me at this lvl. I just needed drone skills of 15 (10 for mining drone) for combat drone, and 10 refinery skill to be able to enter and retrieve your droned ore.

I need to keep mining drones active and healthy and extractors active and healthy. I suppose factories and malls will be coming soon.

I also know how to make insane amounts of credits in this game, although by revealing them here I am giving up my lucrative secret and could easily be thwarted by competition. I do not care however so I will reveal my secrets for insane cash. Look at the GBM list and find things that are in heavy demand. There are at least 3 contracts out on it. Then start your own contract and offer more cpu to get the goods. Some things are hard to come by in the game like cadavers and narcotics just to name 2. Once you have 100 or more of these items sell them in Pmarket for insane prices ($50000+ or much more) that the rich higher lvls will gladly pay to avoid the pains of waiting around waiting for a gbm contract to complete. If they don't sell in Pmarket then reduce your prices or get your credits back in the GBM.

Fuel is another thing however. I have 8 gold on the MMorph website...

Guilds could communicate the same way they do in warcraft with a third party website called ventrilo.com this would allow core exile players to talk on headsets. It is free for all except for 1 person who pays for the entire guild. Sometimes guilds donate towards cost, but usually the richer guildies soak the cost.

I will say this is an addictive free fun game. I did mention warcraft in a earlier post which costs a lot of money. You do not need to pvp in warcraft and there are a million ways to play the game based on your desires and creativity. The game cost about $125 plus $15/month to play but you start off controlling a storybook type man/woman/elf/gnome/panda/goblin/walking cow/undead or whatever and you choose your quests. You could play 10 characters and still never see all the quests in the game. There are in game achievements such as reading all of the books hidden in the game, or fishing tourneys, or kissing all the cute forest animals in the game. If you collect over 50 mounts you get an albino dragon to fly on but there are hundreds of in game mounts. You just wander around questing in a 3d animated world. The in game chat is visible in game and highly evolved. if you type /dance in chat your character will dance or /silly your character will tell a joke. I won a flute once and kept it that when you play it every character in earshot starts to dance. There are many fun items in game.
If you eat a savory deviate delight you would transform into a pirate or ninja for 1 hour(or until you cancel).

Characters dancing (this video is funny and shows some detail of warcraft)

Even a normal player became famous playing, and is now an achievement in game and famous worldwide.

There are some who never do dungeons or raids, but here is a serious raid. Note adult players prevail still in this game.

During dungeons and raids your character auto targets so fast reflexes on aiming are not necessary. I have seen senior citizens that are good raiders.

Warcraft can be fun if you just wander around talking to people.

It is worth visiting if only for the amazing 3D graphics and art .. view this

However warcraft is not cheap. you must install a 20 gig virtual world onto your computer, and although you can install and play free up to lvl 20 (everyone should at least try it imo).
If you die your punishment is running a ghost from the nearest cemetery back to your body. It costs about $125 and then 15/mo.

Core exiles has been very fun, although I feel my main thing is now refreshing wesbec to fill my huge cargo hold. I have shown how to make easy credits for newbs. I wish it had some graphics also, and have been looking at other mmorphs on the mmorph page.

The amount of details in Warcraft are incredible. If you need to hire a rogue player to open a lockbox for you you hold it while he picks the lock. It never changes hands so he/she can run off with it. The game has hundreds of add-ons. I had one that auto opened my mail and took the gold out because I was sometimes receiving hundreds of letters from the auction house' The game can just be a glorified chatroom if you desire, and you could walk the lands for 10 years and never see all of this animated world. I have 4 high ranked characters there and I still do not have the explorers achievement, although nowadays I could just fly over it all nice and safely. It is just so big.

I will continue to play core exiles and will buy a #5 engine upgrade for $35 (pretty sure) so it is fun enough to invest in...

If people want a free game this is a great one, but if you can afford $15/month then warcraft is worth a try. Youd save that much by not going out as often.

I have given this game a fair shake.. but it's apples vs oranges. There is no fair comparison.

I chatted with a visually impaired core exiles member and it is perfect for him.

I realize that just about all of us tend to exaggerate in order to make a point, but 100 refreshes is a bit over the top.

I've got 1,140 cargo holds (over twice the amount of yours) and I get a full load with less than 20 refreshes.

The problem must be in your methodology. Most all of the seasoned players use exactly the same method I do. First, we develop an established trade route with fixed points at each end. Next, we accept loads to any sector located within 3 or 4 hops of those end points. Then we start loading at Websec until we're within about 150 units of being full. At that point we leave Websec and go to Asher to top off the load. The whole process, even with over 1,000 holds never takes more than about 2 or 3 minutes - and, like I said, *rarely* more than 20 refreshes and generally only about 8 or 9.

Also, it's good to know your trade route well so that you place all your extractors and mining drones along it to conserve fuel. My personal route goes from the distant ends of the Sphere and Verec-Per and takes a little over 500 units of fuel each way. So I wind up making one round trip per day and tending my extractors along the way when they need it.

By the way, I'm about to send you an *important* PM. Please pick it up and respond first chance you get - I need some info so I can start the process to get your first round of freebies from the game.

    @RO,

Thanks for this thread. I just created an account and put "Dr. Who" as my referral. I won't be able to check it out for a few days (work & picking up motorcycle from shop for weekend ride) but, I'm looking forward to it. Cheers!

BTW - My captain name is "EllisD" and the ship is "General Lee"

Do they pay dividends, or do you only make money by trading?
