The videocard would be the last component I buy so I can wait for whatever new chipset is out at the time + research more.

It seems to me that a CPU/GPU combo would be a waste if you are going to buy a gaming video card. Why not buy a conventional quad core instead?

SSD life depends on two things: bugs, and how much you write to them.

I have three Intel SSDs here, which have a 'wear indicator' in the SMART data, and even the oldest one from a couple of years back shows less than 2% wear. But that's in the netbook, where it isn't written to often. Other people who use SSDs for software development have said they have to replace them at least once a year, but the performance boost is well worth the couple of hundred dollars that costs.

The drive in the server has less than 1% wear, but the early firmware had a bug where, when you booted up, the SSD would randomly claim to be only an 8MB drive and you had to wipe it to get the full capacity back.

So personally I don't trust important data to SSDs yet. That all goes on the hard drive RAID in the server instead.

Thanks, well i figured that the A75 was a newer chipset and performed better, or you suggest a 990fx?

I don't think I'll get an SSD, sounds kinda lame to me :/ idk will think on it

An SSD will dramatically reduce boot time and application startup, which is why we have them in the netbook and HTPC; they're turned off a lot and when we boot them we don't want to wait long. With hindsight, the server didn't really need one, but it boots from BIOS to Linux in less time than it takes to get through the BIOS startup sequence.

But unless you reboot a lot or do disk-intensive work, it won't make much difference. The really big wins are in applications like database servers which typically read and write a lot of small chunks from all over the disk on a regular basis. The SSD can be hundreds or possibly even thousands of times faster than a hard drive for that kind of use.

You would be better off using one SSD for the operating system, another One just big enough for you for your games drive so it won't cost so much to replace it every so often and a normal drive for your documents, music, backups etc which are changed quite frequently

I was getting a pretty lame temp with the Coolmaster Hyper N520 I mean the others would never have fit into my case sooooo

Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Then I added a side fan to the case, the magnetic one...... and the temp dropped 10C! I was like wtf? 10C from 50C to 40C with full loads on IGP and APU.......

Whatever man, it's medium-quiet, not loud as fuck but not low-quiet :X Anyways who woulda thought the side fan made such different? But it does directly blow over heatsink so idk :X

7 1000 rpm fans with magnetic bearings, 2 92mm on the heatsink, and the psu fan lol eek!

    ok bye
