    Just doesn't seem right that the world's oldest teenager should pass away.

    RIP Dick, you had many of us watching all the pretty girls dancing and listening to the music.

    I don't think he got a handle on acid rock (not that anyone else did either).
    He invented Disco to mask over a place where music went cosmic.
    Other than that, he was pretty cool.

    Although he was my generation's cool big brother, I never really watched his show. But I was aware of what he was doing and appreciated him. He had a lot to do with the racial integration of popular music.

    I'm ashamed to admit that, being on the West Coast then, I didn't appreciate what it meant for him to do his traditional New Year's Eve ceremony in New York City just three and a half months after 9/11. Huge crowds of New Yorkers showed up, thumbing their frozen noses at the terrorists.
