    Never said it did, and that was not my point. My point was to show you how well the government runs its affairs, and SS is an excellent example.

    If you do, however, want to argue this point, consider the following: The government borrows every penny from SS fund in order to pay its debts. Also, there is a direct connection between how much tax revenue the government can collect in income taxes and how much of a percentage of a person's income that that is collected for SS. (the more you give to SS as a percentage, the less you can pay in income taxes. Less out of a taxpayers wallet means the less they can spend) SS is simply another tax since the government borrows from the trust anyway. This is an accounting gimmick. So really?
