It's called reactive armor. Slabs of explosive bolted on detonate when a shaped charge warhead hits it, deforming the gas jet and preventing it from penetrating the armor.

The caption for the photo was probably originally something like "A young boy throws rocks at a tank in (insert a name of a town)."

If your country was occupied by an unfriendly nation and you didn't have an army to fight back you too would support any and all means to strike at the enemy.

Yes the suicide bombings are tragic for the families of those who died but I guarantee you that many more innocent Pal's die at the hands of the 4th most powerful military in the world.

If you want the suicide bombings and stupid killings to stop it's EASY!!! GET ISREAL OUT OF PAL!!!!!

I recently saw what appeared to be an unbiased report of the situation in Pal. During the report the Isreali army blocked off a road to allow an isreali to use it...they blocked it off for hours mean while a Pal needed to get medical attention for he's injured child and couldn't due to the road block..... the child died!! If that was my son I would do whatever it took to get some vengence on the occuping country, any parent reading this would...it's not that hard to understand what motivates the Pal's to commit suicide bombings. I don't condone the action but I do understand them. Why can't you? Are the lives of isreali's somehow more valuable?? would you be happy to have fortress type city's looking down on you? losing all of your freedoms, homes, family etc due to someones religous beliefs?? hell NO!! you would fight, and you would be justified in doing so.

Don't allow the gov and the media to do your thinking for you, they have agenda's...you have a brain USE IT!.

 

I thought Iraq had the Fourth largest army. And it's not size that matters. An army is only as powerful as it's commander. And suicide bombers are not the way to go.

And no, I haven't the faintest clue of what's going on; I don't even know if it's a war or not!!

That is the problem, too many people are not aware of what is going on over there...which serves all sorts of gov agenda's. Do you think that Bush could propose invading iraq if there wasn't an on going conflict in th mid east?? While people stay ignorant the Bush's and Sharon's of the world can get away with Murder.

I don't think suicide bombings are the way to go either (they have in fact back fired) but I can UNDERSTAND why they are doing it....they don't have an army or means of defence.

In the above picture, we can see clearly how the Israeli army deal with ' Stone-throwing ' palestinean protestors.

In every civilized country, the government send the riot police to tackle these protestors, but in Nazi terrorist Israel, the government there sent the ARMY and the TANKS.

There's something amiss with those pictures. Where are the other bullet markings from after they were shot?? Surely to kill both of them at once you need a rapid firing weapon and rapid firing weapons aren't accurate mainly due to racoil. Now if it wasn't very accurate it would have left at least two more bullet markings in the wall around them. But no, still the same three. How do we know this isn't Paletinian propaganda??

If this only happens in "Nazi" Isreal, then why are you getting wound up. I thought you were opposed to Isreal??

And it does go both ways you know, I hear on the news that Isreali soldiers die every so often.

basic simplified history of palastine and israel. Initially they shared a nation, then the jews were given their own country since many europeans both felt sympathetic for them for the holocost but secretly didn't really want jews back into their country. So now we have jews with their own country, to which many of its neighbors try to attack. What did the palestinians do when they knew neighboring armies were about to invade? They left israel, because those damn jews will soon loose and then the palastinians will get israel to themselves. What happened? Jews kicked the invaders ass, and then the palastinians wanted back in after abandoning their land. And that dispute has now gone on for decades, and many countries in the middle east love blaming the jews for all of their woes. Oh, and US too. If the palastinians only used suicide bombing against soldiers, MAYBE that might count as fair insurgence. But attacking civilians, children, etc forfeits palastinians right to return, or for much sympathy at all.
