actually gotta remeber the Jedi were falling becuase A: They were diminishing in number and BThey were arrogant and complacent.

Also remeber Yoda did specifically say that there was nothing a Jedi could not do if the Force was with them. Hell he moved a amulti ton starship with just a thought

He did, but Jedi obviously required tarining, and nobody lives forever. According to what I have heard about Star Wars novels (which I thought about reading, but decided I'm better off reading LotR) Jedi would have curbstomped CIS and Republic had they had full wank powers EU gives them.

Well, you also have to remember that there are ranges of Jedi. Not everyone was in the Master Luke Skywalker league. Hell as powerful as Obi-wan was in TPM and AoTC is the usual upper limit for 99 percent of the Order. People like Yoda, Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, and Skywalker family are in leagues of their own.

I mean it only makes sense. You would not think every Starfighter Pilot was as proficient as Wedge Antilles or ever freighter Captain was as skilled as Han Solo. Not every Admiral is a Ackbar or Thrawn. Not every soldier is a Navy SEAL. Not ever Federation Captain is a Kirk or Picard. And certainly when it comes to science officers not all of them are a Data or Spock.

Also it was childs play to eliminate the Order of jedi. They were already spread thin, add in the war abnd they are spread out and vulnerable, especially to their supposed allies. Think Picard would fair much better if suddenly the crew of the Enterprise decided to string him up?

I know, but some things I have seen on Wookiepedia wank up Jedi so hard that it simply cannot possibly fit with what we see in movies.

And Yoda did say that, but there are still questions of mental discipline and training.

Well, you gotta remember the Movies cover a very very small time frame in the span of the SW universe. They also cover only a small number of characters and a period of time when the Jedi were waning. It'd be like judging the Yankees history on a single bad season

You gotta consider too Wookiepedia is much like Memory Alpha or Wikipedia, you need a grain of salt.

Star Trek has no cool robots. Who would want to live in a universe without cool robots?

Let's see...great political instability, battle stations capable of destroying planets, half of everything alive trying to kill you, mad Force users who could kill through holograms and Jar Jar Binks VS annoying Beauracrats with a lot of red tape, insane admirals, everything including your own ship trying to kill you, near-omnipotent beings who would rearrange space and time because of boredom, and Wesley Crusher. I don't think I would like to live in either universe.

But if you had to choose one I would bet Star Wars would be preferable, after all they have Twi'keks and Zeltrons.

Ah, but in Trek you have Orion Slave Girls and Romulan Ale! And neither one of those tends to want to kill you afterwards!

Actually Romulan Ale is borderline lethal at 190 proof and Orion Slave girls are known for killing their owners to gain freedom. Twi'leks might be, but there has only ever been one Zeltron sociopath in the history of the race, and she's an albino.

Ah, but borderline lethal isn't lethal (and human Moonshine goes over 190 proof anyway), and I was more or less thinking of the free Orion Slave Girls (that's the only name I know to call them by) that are actually Federation members (example - the one in J.J.'s Trek, but I think I've seen others, can't recall episode names atm)

190 prrof is 95% alcohol by weight, lol. Sure some moonshine might hit over 190 but i sure as hell would not drink it, lol.

I still take Zeltron over an Orion. A race of Empathic Hedonists is just what the dostor ordered.

You can get moonshine at 96.5% alcohol, but above that it will, literally, rip water out of the air to equalize at 96.5% alcohol... so anything over that you have to drink RIGHT away... but getting it that high also heavily concentrates impurities (like lead) and can have... nasty... side effects

And I wouldn't want an Empathic lover to be honest... I like the uncertainty and unexpectedness

aren't orion slave girls not slaves at all, but merely manipulating everyone with their pheromones?

Depends mostly on the episode - they aren't really slaves in the end but a race of... well, green women. I don't think the race ever got a new name, though

Buh... it'd be a Green Twi'lek that could bend herself into a pretzel and bench press a small bus... *blink blink* that'd either be incredibly sexy or incredibly scary... like... Incredible She-Hulk if she were limber scary...

Surely someone has posted the Star Wars opening theme played on wine glasses?

I'm not taking the time to search the whole thread, so here it is, possibly a repeat.
