I am going on a little holiday soon. I leave on Saturday morning. I've never flown before and have heard a lot of things about people being on the do not fly list, usually for little to no reason. I was just wondering if there was any way to know whether or not you're on it beforehand. I've already had a difficult time getting a passport because of red flags with homeland security so I was just wondering if that may be an indication. That problem was solved but I had to sic a congressman on them to get the problem taken care of. So I was just wondering if there was a way to know if I'm getting up in the wee hours of the morning and travel to SF just to be turned around.

You can print your boarding pass out for most airlines 24 hours in advance. If you can print your boarding pass you are NOT on the "no fly list". http://www.dhs.gov/files/programs/gc_1169699418061.shtm
Thank you frthe comments, links and ideas. I have tried talking to homeland security when I had an issue getting a passport. Their facorite response is "I can't tell you that. It's a matter of national security." They are very rude and arrogant and treat you like a criminal if you talk to them. It's like Hoover's dead people get over it. Anyway, everything looks like a go. I was just wondering since they gave me such a hard time about the passport if they had me on the list and it appears they don't. Thanks again.
I imagine the don't-fly-list is difficult to get on. Previous dealings with homeland security have made you paranoid, unless you have something to hide... How difficult was it for you to get a passport?
