Mind you, there remains considerable debate in regard to what precisely is meant by the word 'mind'.

Certainly we all use the word as though we have comprehension of it, as in "Are you out of your mind?"

While Science can provide evidence for the brain and details on at least some of the functions it performs, the sticking point seems to be in locating, measuring and otherwise verifying that which we call mind, using the scientific method.

Then again, if it's only scientists who ascertain that mind does not exist, then that makes for an interesting contemplation in itself.

    Don't mind me....

There's no good definition. It's a handy model for explaining much of our behavior, not something we can observe empirically as required by the scientific method.
It's too abstract. I doubt that anyone will ever do that.
I can't find a reference for the origin of the word's use as a verb. But as an ancient, venerable word with cognates in most of the Indo-European languages, it originally derives from the Proto-Indo-European verb men- meaning "to think," "to remember" or "to become aroused (mentally)."

One of the earliest meanings of the English word is "memory," but that one is now almost obsolete, surviving in idioms like "bear in mind" and "call to mind."

Can you explain what you mean by this statement? I have a hunch this is going to turn into a claim requiring some rather fantastic evidence so please do come prepared.

That it is, or a better way to express it is the brain is enabled by "physical laws".

That would be a demonstrably false claim.

Excuse me? You rang? Mind elaborating? Or is it just normal for you to run around instigating trouble for no reason at all? You know like some cancerous colon. What's wrong, lose your god somewhere on the way to this forum? Spit all your pseudo spiritual philosophical erudition in the Ganges? Poor Signal feels ignored. Now if I took the time to randomly pay attention to you and treat you like the snot bugger you really are then you would cry troll or harassment wouldn't you? You're a 'wys ars' as they would say in old english. The cure of course is to take a rusty butter knife to that shriveled diseased pecker of yours. I mean its not like you really need it right?
