To be accurate, what Obama said was that the border has never been more secure. Obama nor has any member of his adminstration said the border was secure. And the facts bear out Obama and his administration on that claim. http://securitydebrief.com/2010/06/23/the-us-border-has-never-been-more-secure/ http://www.suntimes.com/5288676-417...r-more-secure-pushes-for-immigration-overhaul
That first link was from June, 2010. There have been hundreds of murders etc on the Mexican border since then. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/01/1...er-crossing-gunfire-amid-calls-congressional/ Obama wants the Hispanic vote. End of story.
and they still wouldn't take the jobs. they tried getting everyday american to work the fruit picking jobs the illegals do. 1 person showed up.
Yep and the second link was from 2 days ago. The bottom line is Obama never said the border was secure. He said it have never been more secure. No matter how you look at the numbers, they are better now than they have ever been.
The beheadings are especially indicative of a "secure border".Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! http://www.landlinemag.com/todays_news/Daily/2011/May11/050911/051111-03.shtml
No, they're not. There is unreported crime and violence. Some guy just got his head sawed off. There are violent terrorists disguised as Hispanics coming across. It is NOT secure and is NOT better than ever. "We’re concerned with the increasing threat that the border is more insecure than it has ever been,” said Steven McCraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety. http://www.landlinemag.com/todays_news/Daily/2011/May11/050911/051111-03.shtml “It’s not more secure than it has ever been! It’s getting more violent; smugglers are getting more brazen. They are getting orders to confront us… We’re doing, unfortunately, the job of the federal government.” -a TX sheriff
Obama and Napolitano are downplaying the violence for votes. http://townhall.com/columnists/chucknorris/2011/03/22/exaggerated_us_border_violence_hardly The border is a disaster.
1. It's illegal to use the military for that purpose. 2. Deportation isn't cheap, do you want to pay for that? What about their children who might be legal and have known no other life? 3. There is no such thing as 100% security, do you have any constructive suggestions that we aren't doing now (that aren't illegal)?
Well that is interesting, so you are saying that implementing all of the Republican border initiatives has made the border more insecure. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! And there is no news with yet another Republican lying for political effect.
We are probably going to waiting a long time as Diane has been permabanned for being a Sandy sock puppet.
Gimme a day and I can think up a dozen ways to blow something up in the US, including where/how to get the actual device. Thankfully for us the terrorists don't seem to have enough imagination to do so or more likely their lines of communication aren't secure enough for them to be able to do so.
Part of border enforcement/security is also to show that deterrents are effective. If less people are coming across the border, then this suggests that people are being deterred. Choosing to not arrest people gives a false impression that less people are coming across. This would be like saying that alcohol will be illegal until DUI arrests go down. And then telling police officers to ignore most drivers who show signs of driving under the influence. Politicians can then say, "Look, everyone! DUI arrests are down 89%! Let the drinking begin!"
To be fair, the border can be more "secure" with regard to illegal immigrants while still being more dangerous with regard to violent crime. But, in any event, this is clearly a case of certain politicians lobbying for amnesty to make it easier for themselves to get elected with millions of shiny new "American" voters.
