Depends on what "it" is. Of course.

    Case closed.

Not quite, spidergoat. You've just named 3 things which could, maybe, depending on the person, make one weaker (in spirit), or they could, again, depending on the person, make them stronger.

I think it's a philosophy rather than a fact. I apply it in my own life, but I wouldn't say it to a person who had just become a quadriplegic as a result of a car accident.

    @ Kellisness
Really? How do they make one stronger?

Dywydyr, are you asking because you don't know or for some other reason?

I'm asking because I want an answer.
How do they make one stronger?

I don't believe anything you say. Do you believe that?

Yes it's a philosophy, so surely if you apply it in your own life you know that it's all about one's attitude and outlook towards an event, and you must also surely know that with the right outlook comes strength, no? I'd have no qualms about saying it to someone whose just become a quadriplegic. Why would you?

Yep. I've been nearly killed more times than I care to mention. I am a survivor and am very strong indeed. Anyone else would be dead by now, but not me - I'm cursed with life..

Do you want an answer because you don't have one, or because you do and you want to compare yours to mine?

What sorts of things have happened to you if you don't mind me asking?

More of your trolling and avoidance?
I'm asking because I want an answer.
You've made a claim: support it.

You obviously don't subscribe to the philosophy. Fair enough.

    And you're trolling again.
I look forward to your next ban. Presumably it'll be longer. You may learn something from it. If not (and apparently you won't) it'll end in a permaban.

Dywydyr, I learn from all experiences. If I get banned for not standing to attention every time you bark orders at me, I'll learn from that too. Outlook influences actions. Actions influence outcomes.

Yet you haven't, apparently, learned anything from your last ban.

And, one more time, it's not me that requires you support your position, it's the forum rules. And THAT is why you are classed as trolling: you refuse, consistently, to substantiate or defend your opinions.

I've been shot, gassed (carbon monoxide) requiring 100% oxygen for 48 hrs, I had a serious morphine overdose, twice. I rode my motorcycle into a car, and a fence, and had numerous "offs", I got attacked by burglars, nearly drowned, twice. One by accident, one by my uncle. Suicide attempts..the list goes on. In all i've broken 16 bones and had over 75 stiches. Still here, somehow. My mum, when she was alive, was proud of what I showed I could take. To me, it's just pain. And experience. Painful experience, yeah. But I'm strong, nobody can do anything that scares me now.

Dywydyr, when you ask questions, it's not in the spirit of curiosity. You have no interest in learning anything, only goading people into a fight. I'm not trolling, I'm merely avoiding situations in which you get to do what you dearly want to do, which is trolling. All you want to do is take the piss out of people whose views differ from yours and I'm not interested in answering your questions. The arrogance with which you ask them is a giveaway as to your intentions. I don't have to interact with you at all. If you know the rules so well you should know that too.
