I've been banned. Once I got to know the moderators(and the rules) a little better they afforded me some leniency.
There is in this forum, someone who has mastered the art of being banned and resurrected. Though I can't guarantee you the same success. But I deign not to speak for him. Why? Are you planning on being banned sometime soon? Then again, there's another. Perhaps you seek her wisdom instead? Banning is funny. As funny as this forum. You never know where that axe might fall. Seems to me to be pretty gosh darn arbitrary whether someone gets away with a load of shit, or they're slated for early demise. That would actually be a very interesting study. A look at the ideals and rhetoric and the infractions and the permanent bannings of this forum. I wonder what we'd find? Seems like some people come here and are permanently banned straightaway, or relatively soon. Of course, barring people who try to come back under different pseudonyms after being banned once before. Or spammers. There's a few people who immediately after signup start very long posts, but don't seem to have real conversations with anyone. They just post a bunch of stuff, sometimes incoherent drivel, and then come back later and post more conversations with themselves, oblivious to anyone else. Ummm... I guess. What's the purpose of this thread anyway? What I've really found out from this poll, is that I own this forum, but two other people own this forum also. To me that's unacceptable. I challenge the other two to fight to the death in the Terrordome. Three persons enter, four persons and a dwarf leave.
I've been warned, threatened and suspended multiple times in this forum. Can't help it- if someone's an idiot, I feel I am doing them a favor pointing it out.
only once for three days. I spammed 15 or 20 treads with same msg trying to get political support to block Paulson's Tarp plan as I recall. That took about 8 minutes then I reported my self for spamming. James R more recently gave me a no point warning for "improper language" he said; but there is none in the OP I made. James did not approve of my poll asking if US should destroy the new modern factories its investors built in China.
I've only been warned once, but it's because I asked James R to punish me for my bad behavior. I figured it'd be fun... you know... I could join all the other cool kids with warnings.

So far so good.. I've gone unscathed, I got perma-banned from another forum for telling the moderator there he was talking out his arse..correctly. Some people just can't handle any form of critisicm. Power corrupts..Some get fat heads. Here though, there's never been any need to do battle with the mods. Simply banning someone under such circumstances is, I think, an admission of failiure. Not somewhere I'd want to be. I like the Mods here.
