Hurray USA, ...the land of the FREE!

"...probes against innocent Americans without clearance from headquarters."

If they are innocent, why to investigate them?

BUSH ADMINISTRATION GIVES FBI SWEEPING NEW SURVEILLANCE AUTHORITY

    WASHINGTON, D.C.

The Department of Justice announced new guidelines, May 30, that will give FBI agents greater latitude to monitor Internet sites, libraries, and religious institutions -- without offering any evidence of potential criminal activity.

Under the new guidelines, field office directors will be allowed to launch terrorism investigations and undercover probes against innocent Americans without clearance from headquarters.

According to the DOJ, "investigations of criminal groups were impeded by limits on scope, duration, and red tape."

Editor's note: Generally, red tape means the FBI must conform to constitutional requirements. These guidelines, in effect, remove all reasonable control of the agency. The FBI's tactics, as in the not-too-distant past, will chill legitimate protest, freedom of association, freedom of speech, and freedom of conscience.

If you kiss Bush's ass, you're more FREE,...Hurray!

BUSH ADMINISTRATION WON'T ALLOW HOMELAND SECURITY DIRECTOR TOM RIDGE TO TESTIFY BEFORE CONGRESS

    WASHINGTON, D.C.

On April 30, Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.V., chastised the Bush administration for refusing to allow Ridge to testify to Congress, saying the decision denied the nation a full picture of the White House anti-terrorism strategy.

Byrd chairs the Senate Appropriations Committee where he began hearings from Cabinet secretaries on their plans for thwarting terrorist activities.

"The real losers are the American people whose lives this government is trying to protect. They are not being told the whole strategy," Byrd said. "The Congress and the American people are forced to learn about the administration's homeland security efforts in piecemeal, patchwork fashion."

The While House argues that Ridge shouldn't appear because he is an adviser to the president, not a policy-maker confirmed by the Senate. Byrd argues that Congress has the right to hear from administration officials so it can shape the government's budget for battling terrorists.

Maybe not BILLIONS. We know for sure that 1/2 million children have died as a direct consequence of economic sactions on Iraq imposed by US and UN. Iraqi children used to get milk in school before the gulf war. Now, although milk is allowed in Iraq, equipment to store and transport milk is not allowed.

I'm not against war at all. I'm against suffering and death of civilian lives. Why don't we remove Saddam and his government (by war) and make iraq our 51st state? If we take it into our hands to destroy the iraqi government, then we should take the responsibility to clean up and provide or impose a governement for the people. -- Just like Roman empire did. The people of every conquered state automatically became Roman citizens and were granted all the rights of a Roman citizen.

Rome did rule over them. But you didn't have the full rights of a citizen until you did military service.

In present-day reality, the level of "shock and awe" necessary to impose an empire on the scale of the Romans in the Middle East would leave nothing to govern.

When an Empire controls without governing.. –
Controlling by wars, sanctions, and politics and failing to govern people of affected “controlled” areas will eventually lead to the destruction of that Empire.

How do you say "please don't kill me" or "please don't blow us up" in Arabic?

It's hard to be heard when the Busheviks are blaring out "YOU WANT SOME-A THIS YOU LITTLE MONKEYS? MOVE ASIDE FOR ISRAEL AND EXXON-MOBIL!"

However, I'm not too mixed-up with American BS to say "Please don't shoot me because my government is out of control". On one lucky occasion, a similar plea actually worked for me, and guess what- a militiaman who could have dropped me let me walk. Until you've been there dsdsds don't knock it- It could be that you would just wet yourself.

    I’m a little rusty with the Arab language, but it sounds something like this;

“Jo nuj fried mej” or “jo nuj blowjob mej”

I'm glad you got out of that situation Hype. I agree with most of your views.
As far as wetting myself, maybe I would in that situation and I don't care to find out. Just the same, I'd like to negotiate with my terrorist in his language of preference.

As would us all - even George W. Bush. If only he could be on the front lines of his future war and/ or occupation- alone.

If I didn't know better, I'd swear that George Bush himself penned these words! Scary!

Is it me or does anyone else see something a bit off in this statement. Not against war but against suffering and death?!?!? Can you have one without the other {war without death}? Classic Bush speak.

Do you really think that if Suddam and the entire government of Iraq just uped and left the country, the US would approve the lifting of sactions against the country? Not until the US is in full control of Iraq would sanctions be lifted.

Maybe I'm missing something in the translation for your words...

You mean you didn't see this as a joke? You thought this was serious? It's classic Bush speak! Of course it's a *** joke! To love ones place of birth and to love ones government is two different things. To be American is to ask questions or one day you're gonna wake up and instead of stars in the sea of blue on the flag its gonna be swastika in a sea of blood.

    The Us Leaders

    Howdy

Im proud to be an American as well. I cant judge for any other! We elected the officials we have (Commander and Chief ect..) in office. This is what the voting system is about. If we dont like who we have representing us then we need to change it. The fact is that we elected them to take care of all of this! It seems to me, now that they make a few calls that some call questionable we want to tell them how to do there job. I say let the elected officials do the job they are paid and trained to do. We cant know all the "In's and Out's" concerning the present issue's like they do. Lets try support instead of calamity!

    Just my opinion
