Would they taste like real egg's does anyone know the chemicals involved?
As far as I know, it's a lot of starch and probably some vegetable protein here and there with some mineral salts thrown in. Nutritionally, it's crap. I don't think it's unsafe to eat them if properly made. But given that food from China is often of dubious safety, I wouldn't eat them at all. Real eggs are more nutritious in that they contain excellent protein. Don't know if it's true but I heard from a colleague that, in China, you can purchase an "egg-making kit" or attending an "egg-making seminar" to learn how to get into the business of making fake eggs.
At first I thought, interesting, it's like a veggieburger, maybe it's healthier, but making them out of industrial chemicals, then selling them as real? That's fucking bizarre. Those people should go to jail.
It answers the question of which came first the chicken or the egg. The egg is thew answer because man made it originally in China in 34000 bc. Although after centuries of the forgotten science hidden by their ancestors they still fail at making a chicken. overall score... fail. Who would buy eggs a second time from someone who sold you fake eggs? when will the Chinese implement good economic sense into their society?..... Probably after they take over the world by egging our houses into surrender. Just think if they all started making fake eggs.
OK. These fake eggs look like a real phenomenon. Compare and contrast with Mock Apple Pie (Variant). As someone as fat who appreciates good cooking as much as I do, this also seems like an abomination. BTW, from watching the the videos, I think I found the "recipe" for the Chinese ovum artificiosus. http://www.weirdasianews.com/2007/05/04/chinas-10-steps-to-make-a-fake-egg/
I'm thinking a Fake Chinese Egg making kit would be an interesting cultural artifact? Who knows what it might be worth in a few years! :xctd:
