here's another one from linkin park about the blood...i love this song...

Yeah here we go for the hundredth time
Hand grenade pins in every line

Throw 'em up and let something shine
Going out of my fucking mind

    Filthy mouth, no excuse
Find a new place to hang this noose

String me up from atop these roofs
Knot it tight so i won't get loose

Truth is you can stop and stare
Run myself out and no one cares

Dug the trench out laid down there
With a shovel up out of reach somewhere

    Yeah, someone pour it in
Make it a dirt dance floor again

Say your prayers and stomp it out
When they bring that chorus in

I bleed it out digging deeper
    Just to throw it away

I bleed it out digging deeper
    Just to throw it away

I bleed it out digging deeper
    Just to throw it away

    Just to throw it away
    Just to throw it away

    I bleed it out

    Go stop the show
Choppy words and a sloppy flow

    Shotgun opera lock and load
Cock it back and then watch it go

Mama help me I've been cursed
Death is rolling in every verse

Candy paint on his brand new hearse
Can't contain him he knows he works

Fuck this hurts, I won't lie
Doesn't matter how hard I try

Half the words don't mean a thing
And I know that I wont be satisfied

    So why try ignoring him
Make it a dirt dance floor again

Say your prayers and stomp it out
When they bring that chorus in

I bleed it out digging deeper
    Just to throw it away

I bleed it out digging deeper
    Just to throw it away

I bleed it out digging deeper
    Just to throw it away

    Just to throw it away
    Just to throw it away

    I bleed it out

    I've opened up these scars
    I'll make you face this

    I've pulled myself so far
I'll make you, face, this, now!!!!

I bleed it out digging deeper
    Just to throw it away

I bleed it out digging deeper
    Just to throw it away

I bleed it out digging deeper
    Just to throw it away

    Just to throw it away
    Just to throw it away

I bleed it out digging deeper
    Just to throw it away

I bleed it out digging deeper
    Just to throw it away

I bleed it out digging deeper
    Just to throw it away

    Just to throw it away
    Just to throw it away

    I bleed it out
    I bleed it out
    I bleed it out

Lori thats probably my nephews favorite song and he is an athiest. Could you give a synopsis for it. Tell us what it meana to you.

Very strange video i must say. I mean the stuff going on in the audiance. Will have to watch that video a few more times.

Here is a special song that always brings an up welling of emotions within me, tears and joy and hope, too powerful to adequately express through words. I wish i had written this song. If i had then i would not have changed one word.

If i had a chance to sing a song to God it would be this one.

    Anne Murry You needed me.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrOdxw5CHX8

I cried a tear, You wiped it dry
I was confused, You cleared my mind
I sold my soul, You bought it back for me
And held me up and gave me dignity
    Somehow You needed me

You gave me strength to stand alone again
To face the world out on my own again
You put me high upon a pedestal
So high that I could almost see eternity
You needed me, You needed me

    And I can't believe it's You
    I can't believe it's true
I needed You and You were there
And I'll never leave, why should I leave?
I'd be a fool 'cause I finally found Someone who really cares

You held my hand when it was cold
When I was lost You took me home
You gave me hope when I was at the end
And turned my lies back into truth again
    You even called me "friend"

You gave me strength to stand alone again
To face the world out on my own again
You put me high upon a pedestal
So high that I could almost see eternity
You needed me, You needed me

You needed me, You needed me

in the video, it looks to me like the audience is participating in acts of violence, but in reverse.

    and the lyrics...

the chorus, again with the blood, and it reminds me of what christ does with me. we dig down deep, dig up all the yucky stuff, look at it..."face it" as it says in the bridge...and then get rid of it.

the shining hand grenades in every line, and the shotgun opera signifies an impactive message.

going out of his mind, filthy mouth/no excuse...duality (see slipknot).

find a new place to hang this noose, i hear immortality. i think that's the message.

there's a lot of references to the death of the flesh...
    laying in a dirt trench
    being cursed
    death rolling
    new paint on a hearse
    it hurts (it does hurt)

i love the bridge. i love it. i feel the exact same way towards people. i want to make them face it now.

which involves saying your prayers and stomping it out. we'll make life fun again.

this is the way i pray...with disturbed...

Another dream that will never come true
    Just to compliment your sorrow
Another life that I've taken from you
A gift to add on to your pain and suffering
Another truth you can never believe
    Has crippled you completely
All the cries you're beginning to hear
Trapped in your mind, and the sound is deafening

    Let me enlighten you
This is the way I pray

    [Chorus:]
    Living just isn't hard enough
    Burn me alive, inside
Living my life's not hard enough
    Take everything away

Another nightmare about to come true
    Will manifest tomorrow
Another love that I've taken from you
Lost in time, on the edge of suffering
Another taste of the evil I breed
    Will level you completely
Bring to life everything that you fear
Live in the dark, and the world is threatening

    Let me enlighten you
This is the way i pray

    [Chorus]

Return to me, return to me, return to me, turn to me, leave me no one
Turn to me, return to me, return to me, turn to me, cast aside
Return to me, return to me, return to me, turn to me, leave me no one
Turn to me, return to me, return to me, you've made me turn away

    [Chorus Variant:]
    Living just isn't hard enough
    Burn me alive, inside
Living my life's not hard enough,
    They take everything from you

    [Chorus]

i think that song is a big "fuck you" to satan.

    the video...

i remember watching something on the making of that video, and the singer compared it to the book of job.

Ok having watch the video a few times i see it as representing an struggle between the Holy Spirit and the people as the Holy Spirit is working on then they struggle against it. You will see in the video people taking in water vomiting it up as they both want the Waters of eternal life and both spew it up because it hurts them when the Water confronts what is inside them. But the struggle continues and none of them gives up.

Also these lines in the song talk of the Holy Spirit.

Candy paint on his brand new hearse
Can't contain Him He knows He works

Fuck this hurts, I won't lie
Doesn't matter how hard I try

Half the words don't mean a thing
And I know that I wont be satisfied

    So why try ignoring Him

A lot of people struggle with the Holy Spirit, they want the Holy Spirit so desperately but the convictions that come from the Holy Spirit hurt. But it is a hurt that cleans one out.

Ok watch it for the first time. It definitely has end times imagery to it. The fire in the sky (meteor impact?) followed by a earthquake just as in the scriptures. The guy starts out walking down the street with evil and broken souls on all sides. Just as the world is now.

I am not sure about the lyrics though. They could be interpreted in two different ways.

i see the verses as describing the world (shown in the video). in the bridge, god is saying "return to me', 'cast aside this world', which ironically is more difficult than accepting it. don't you think?

    that chorus...
    Living just isn't hard enough
    Burn me alive, inside
Living my life's not hard enough
    Take everything away

i can relate to that. i've always been bored with this world. not satisfied. not fulfilled. and it made me turn away.

god has tested me in a lot of ways...in this way. since the spirit and the flesh oppose one another, turning away from the flesh, and from the world, can be quite uncomfortable...like i'm burning alive (like in the black light burns song "lie"). he's saying "burn me alive", as if the burning is bringing him to life, and it does...spiritually. the world is death. the flesh is death.

god gave me an analogy one time about this. i felt very broken, and i was listening to some song lyrics where a man was saying he saved the pieces of his broken heart and ground them to dust. and god said that he would take that dust, put it through a fire, apply pressure, and over time, it would come out a flawless, multi-faceted, indestructible, and brilliant diamond.

that's really beautiful and poignant. i feel that way about god too. but, i've spent a lot of time yelling at him. i'm just so dissatisfied with the world and the perspective he's given me has done nothing but intensify that. for a while, to the point where i was just sick with anger and frustration. since i feel as though he's given me this perspective for a good reason, and since i know he's the answer, i tend to be very emphatic and demanding towards him. he says, "at least you're yelling at me."

but i'm glad there are people out there expressing some more positive sentiment.

Being dissatisfied by the world is not a bad thing Lori. In fact it is how one should feel if they have come to the knowledge of the truth. This world falls far short of the Love of His truth. I hate the world as it is now and long for they way it shall be in the future when Jesus will make it right again by taking away the hurt and suffering we have done.

    1 John 2
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

In times of depression caused by the sadness of seeing the world as it is, It is good to focus on the firm hope (more than Hope indeed heart felt certainty) that all this suffering will be turned into joy and all this turmoil will be turned into perfect peace.

If He is with us nothing and no one can pull us down. No one will subvert Him, Nothing can overcome the Love He has for us.

I do not like most Christian music, because up until now I thought it was all pop and boring. The music didn't touch me. Even the music I sing in the Worship Group. Most of that is popular Christian music. Christian Metal reaches to me. I love Flyleaf. It is an Alternative-Metal Christian band. On the new album, Momento Mori, I have found that the song Tiny Heart relates to me. It reaches to me. Maybe it will reach to you.

    Tiny Heart

    Tiny Heart, stuck inside yourself
When will you open up for me?
I love you so, I wanna meet you again
Before one of us must go.

Your lips touched every hand but mine
If you choose me, I'm waiting for you
If you choose me, I'm waiting for you
    Always waiting

Tiny heart, you're not by yourself
When will you recognize the beat
Of my own heart, grieving in your hand?
You crush me when you run that way.

Your lips touched every hand but mine
If you choose me, I'm waiting for you
If you choose me, I'm waiting for you
    Always waiting

You will never know what you have done to me
And you will never know losing love for me
And you will never know a single day alone.

    Tiny heart, stuck inside yourself
    When will you open up?

Your lips touched every hand but mine
If you choose me, I'm waiting for you
If you choose me, I'm waiting for you
    Always waiting

Perform a search on Incubus and the titles she listed and you will most likely find an available video.
